I went to the AT&T store to look at the iphone. I asked the saleman if the iphone could visually alert me (like the sidekick) when I get an incomming message (email/text); he answered no. So then I asked if any phone in the entire store could do that..unfortunately he ressponded no and suggested that the sidekick from T-mobile was the best choice. Does anyone know if there are any "smartphones" out on the market that have visual alerts for deaf/hh people?

Blackberry have LED flashing if the message arrived or called in. I don't know about IPhone features. I use sidekick 3.

I use Blackberry, they have a red LED light that lets me know that I have a text message, email, or a missed call. I love blackberry but however, I'm thinking of getting the the Droid or iPhone, I don't know which. Anyways, I guess Blackberry is your best choice. Take care.

Most of the HTC phones have an LED that flashes and/or wakes the screen up. I have a Touch HD and it does both, it also repeatedly wakes up until I view the message. HTC - Mobile Phones, Smartphones, Cell Phones, PDAs

sometimes my LED doesn't turn off even after viewing the message. it's very annoying. This is what I do to make it go away.

The iPhones repeat the vibrations until you read the SMS, and has a viewing notification on the home screen.

The iPhone's SMS in incoming message is stronger and longer vibration than email mesages.

I will ask my brother in law to develop new app to make visual alerts for hearing impaired people.
