There's alot of iPhone 3G review, you can google it and check it out.

This thread for ADers who own iPhone 3G and make review based on their opinion.

I got iPhone 3G in last afternoon and it took 30 min to process because store rep was messed with my account and need have to fix it before start prepare to activate, in-store activation is so annoying, I prefer to activate at home. I had played with iPhone 3G for an hour and it's does exceed my satisfy, much more than first gen of iPhone. I was disappointed with first gen of iPhone due no apps support, no IM, lacks of 3G and drains more battery, now... I'm happy with iPhone 3G, much more than BB, SK, HTC or other mobile.

I had played with some third party apps, such as racing games, it use tilt to move your phone to steer the race and it will get used later, just like Wii. I don't have many bugs on iPhone 3G, even no yellow tint, unlike some others had issue like that and haven't notice on app crash or etc.

AIM is running so fine, more stable than WM6 and haven't notice any disconnect issue, it does renders so good on EDGE too and it does have alert with vibrate but it will work if you running AIM screen, it wouldn't work if you using Safari then switch to AIM or other apps so repeatly.

I gave 8.8 out of 10 on iPhone 3G and 3.5 out of 10 on 1st gen of iPhone with 1.0 firmware.

I will still post some more later.

For AIM, if you left AIM to home screen and using other apps for several minutes then it will show you as offline status, just need click on AIM and it will connect so automatically, that's kinda odd.

Not great as AIM on SK3 or Jivetalk on BB because both of them don't shown as offline or disconnect after you using other apps like browse the internet.

I think AIM will working on it to iron the bugs out.

Thats the only issue I'm having right now. I look forward to AIM 2.0!

IPhone features?

My concerns on iphone if I am interested in getting it as my personal use. 3 major factors I'd like to find out are:

1) How's the battery life on iphone? Does it need to be charged everyday? SK and BB batteries lasted 2 to 3 days before being recharged.

2) Does iphone have push email enabled? BB and SK are the only devices known to have its own push email program receiving emails instantly. HTC devices will need 3rd party programs to enable push email on a timely manner.

3) Vibrate? When email comes in, does iphone vibrate letting you know you have a new message or opening up or continuing IM conversations? SK, BB, and HTC (after programming your device to meet your needs) do vibrate when new email or IM comes in.

Just wanted to check it out... Appreciate your help answering those questions above!

Battery life is varies, it depends on thing that you using it, if you watch video, use WiFi, browsing Safari via 3G or use mail push then it will drain so quickly, just like other phone, such as HTC can drain so quickly. I just use AIM and Safari for under 1 hour and battery life is still full with WiFi disabled and no email push, I just check Gmail via Safari.

Yup, iPhone 3G has email push built-in, such as Gmail, MS Exchange, mobileme, Yahoo mail, AOL and others, some of them can drain the battery so little quicker.

Yup, except for AIM, unless you using AIM screen at all time without any change to other apps, however SMS and email push has vibrate since AIM will vibrate you if you are in AIM screen.

Battery life on iPhone 3G is better than first gen of iPhone.

Try the Apps store

Apple - iPhone - App Store

They have apps where you can get for iPhone. it have both payware and free apps. You browse apps in iTune then pick apps you want and it should get installed in iPhone.

Funny thing, My wife and I went to AT&T and play with iPhone 3G. It was not bad and youtube pretty quick and smooth.

I knew you will post the review since you play with many mobiles and you learned which best and worse.

You are better than someone who own iPhone 3g and never explain about new iphone 3g and just post the link for review.

Odd. I thought ONLY pop3 use check every 1 min or 5 min. IMAP don't have one. Just automatically get the email quick than pop3 from I play around on Chatter. Yes, I noticed IMAP save battery life than pop3. Something I miss?

Palm® - Software - ChatterEmail

I don't understand about mail2web.com, what kind of system that I can use via Mail? MS Exchange or need go to Safari to check?

iPhone 3G has PDF support without need install plug-in, just go Safari and find any files that contain PDF then open it so automatically on new window.

but you can't add PDF to read on iphone so it is either send yourself a email with pdf attached or upload to mac.com/me.com and access it via safari.

But with app store, there's FileMagnet for the iPhone and iPod Touch which you can add pdf files to iphone like a ebook that is in pdf so you can read on iphone. You can add other files that is supported by iPhone.
