i majored in communication studies and I learned a lot.
low IQ may have difficult with high IQ, you know?
Two people with identical IQ's might not understand each other if they different backgrounds, areas of interest, education, levels of code switching ability, and desires.
On the other hand, two people with different IQ's can very easily understand each other if they have common interests, patience, desire to communicate, mutual goals, and willingness to be flexible.
Most people who join in conversation don't know each others' IQ's (unless it's a MENSA meeting).
It is not a social norm to inquire about another person's IQ.
