This is a take-off thread from my previous one here: http://www.alldeaf.com/general-chat/42763-open-thread-dedicated-shel90.html

Even though July 4th is on a Wednesday this year instead of a weekend, let's curb the heavy drinking of alcohol and driving. If and when caught, no drunk driver is truly ever sorry for the pain he or she has caused others, not to mention to their own family.

I am going to start stating things we can be thankful for, but some rules need to be addressed: It has to be "indepence-related." Let's keep it rolling, because if we stop short of at least 20 pages, we're not very thankful for anything and we deserve to get what other countries want to do to us and our troops.

Let's be thankful for our independence if we can walk without the use of a walker, crutches, wheelchair or other device. Other people can't even do the easiest of tasks that individually, we take for granted.

I'm thankful that I can freely move around, especially with my hearing dog and go anywhere we please. Other countries are not so fortunate.

i'm thankful for people are allowed to carry conceled weapons.

i'm thankful that the ATV is permit surround and across the country.

Wow, Deafscuba, not very many people are thankful, huh? Just you and me, I guess!

I missed this thread earlier I guess...

I am thankful that I have a wonderful family, good health, and a job that I love. This country gave me the opportunity to accomplish my goals. Also, thank to all the men and women fighting for our freedom and wish them a speedy return to home.

I am thankful that this country can still have freedom in Christ and thanks God for our military men and women. God bless America!

This is a great thread.

I love my country and it means so much to me. I'm proud to be an American. I'm thankful I can go to school. I'm thankful for freedom of speech and my life. I'm thankful for our military men and women.

May God continue to bless America.

I'm thankful that our nation allows freedom to worship without government interference.

I'm thankful that we have the right to speak out about our government's members and organizations.

I'm thankful that we have the right to vote and make changes.

I'm thankful that we can have forums like AllDeaf at which we can express our opinions.

I'm thankful that we can move freely about our country, from state to state, without "permission."

I'm thankful for those who sacrifice for us in order to make possible all of the above.

I'm thankful for good deaf support in this country.

I'm thankful for allowing to drive a car being deaf.

I'm thankful for choosing anything I want to do in my life unlike other countries have limited choices.

I'm thankful for the beautiful country of landscapes, cities, character of people and everything.

after all I'm thankful for living in the united states of america under our proud flag and the bald eagles.

I'm thankful that we have the right to speak out about our government's members and organizations.

I'm thankful that we have the right to vote and make changes.

What's really unfortunate and almost disheartening is that the candidate who can roll in the biggest amount of money can get "voted" into office. This is the only thing I'm not thankful for.

Im thankful that we can go anywhere we want,be anything we want, and be with anyone we want to be with!

*Side note* Im also thanful that we are all allowed to have the friends have! Because without them and our family's this world would be a dull place!
