In your face, NISSAN!

Too bad. Sounds like connection rod throw or bend rod cuz of the turbochargers. :laugh2:
I ll post you tmw about smogged a 2010 GTR.

Oooo, let me know about the smogged 2010 GTR. ;) Yeah, the block was cracked in half, dang! It's a $55,000 engine.

Drive fault who upgrade the software for 70hp more and turbocharger's PSI was too high for engine.

Few of my friends who upgrade the turbochargers and they always replace the bigger intercooler and no problem for over 50k mileage so far. I can't image why some people use big turbochargers for tiny intercooler, it is very bad idea.

bring back the Straight Six. you cant beat a straight 6 design, all around the world, theres quite a lot of success with longtivity and the way it can handle massive power boost, its a real mystery why people dont like them, V8's are overhyped, i guess the "Vee"s just LOOKS cool, it has to look Better like a mirrored engine with two of everything on both sides, just weird...( i a, aware about the torque theory on the cranks and the angle of the banks....but to me, i take it with grain of salt, a good solid straight six with a well webbed barrels (it has to be OK , there has been in history lack of webbing is actually a bomb to go off when the conrods cant hold onto the cranks....etc etc etc

last of all i dont know why Nissan decided to go with V6's...(compactness for the body and frame design seems to take priority but nah dah they missed the whole point market designs SHOULD NOT supersede practical designs.

that old 2.6 twin turbo was a gem, it could be tuned to wick out 600-700 HP easy, even 1,000hp (but harder to control)....

Highlander, that engine simply sucks...period. It just can't handle measly 70 hp more out of a stock motor, how sad.

Inline 6 rocks on!

My personal favorite motor was the one I had. Twin turbo inline 6. Torque outta the roof.

It was a toyota, pulled from a supra.

Here is: 2010 Nissan GT-R
VIN JN1AR5EFXAM------ I cant give the last 6 numbers (private reason)
3.8L CA (calif) A/T, AIR, 2 A/FS, 2TWC,2HO2S,TC,CAC
ODOMETER: 907 miles
LICENSE: none
The customer (maybe a freelance dealer) bought it from NJ state, and needs smog certificate. I smogged it and passed TSI (two speed idle). Sorry I cant remember what the interior looks like cuz I was not an exotic sport car lover.

Dr. `WTF' or how I learned to question the sanity of the GT-R engineers. *Video Added* - NAGTROC - The Nissan GT-R Owners Club

Thats what it bothers me. Too much steriod on the damn motor. I wonder why the motors in the GTRs in Europe have some mechanical problems. I ll find out about the blown motor. I feel good to see the pics of the blown GTR motor. I love it. (I mean the pics in the first posted) I ll take a look at the pics that you posted later cuz I have to go to work.

Id rather have a R32 Skyline GT-R than the full-blown R35 GT-R.

Besides the R-32 is my fave Skyline as when viewed on the side it reminds me of my 1980 Ford Thunderbird if it was stretched and went aero.

Nissan should have kept the inline six for the R35 as it was much a more traditional configuration for the Skylines. Maybe for the R36 the inline six returns eh.... The engineers at Nissan reeeaally should have looked at the tuners from Top Secret (a Japanese tuning house) and learned some lessons on how to make a inline six better.

I am agreed with you about poor designer engine.

I am very disappoint to you. GTR cost $80k and it's quick than chevy corvette.

Many reasons why V is more popular than inline. I6 engine is heavy than V8 engine, I6 engine is long than V8 for the hood, and V6 is better emission than I6. Also Emission laws make all I6 or more to stop make for gasoline.

That's why I6 or more become rare for now.

Interesting....probably a dealer more likely.

Yeah, they should have kept the inline 6. :\

source please? The part about emissions? I am not surprised that I6 is heavier (probably cast iron block) because that's why it's so strong to handle lot of power you upgrade to it.

I wish but I learned from class about emission. That's all they said V8 is better than I6 for low emission. I noticed many 90's cars used I6 for sport like M3, Jeep, SUV, etc, and they turned in V8.

I6 is heavy than V8 because I6 is longer crankshaft and oil pan than V8. Both are the same power but weight. Yes, I6 is still powerful than V6 but poor fuel efficient.

I carried the crankshaft for I4 before and it's pretty heavy and I tried crankshaft for V8 and both are ALMOST same weight to me. I never tired on I6 crankshaft before but it's pretty long.

I am sure deafsmogtech is better explain than mine. I let him to explain more.

I was the one in this thread who first mentioned to bring back the I6, thanks alot guys, it means alot to be ignored.
and no, i wouldnt take the R32, id take the R34!!, although R32/R33 is better for drifting, less 'over use of handling correction' means more slide with less bulk, in other words, smoothers roll in and roll out of slides.....(drifts)
but anyways not coming back for a while , stilll too busy

only reason i like straight 6, cuz i had a
a Skyline GT
they were bad motherfuckers!!!
FAST and yes big heavy on the crank side, but who...F...cares when you really have ooggles of torque even thought they come in differently from V-8's I like v8s too but straight six is to me like an internal combustion connoisseur's choice of engine if you really know and appreciate whats the beauty of firing orders is about, aside from the banks (of cheat) to half-double up the torque (thats behind the V-8 theory)
its just dammit a fucking good straight six, if you havent been in a decent straight six and raves about V8's you need to find someone who has a legendary Str-6's of sorts IN A GOOD condition (otherwise it will fuck up your judgement) then come back and tell me. Now my B-inlaw have a 68's camaro still thinks highly of that torana Xu1 (my brother had one, and i still do think they are great too- another good story, the local bike shope owner (he is rich) took me for a ride in it wow fantastic !!! but the bloody car is SMALL !!!! it blew me away last time i was in one, was when i was 12)
he's got his reason, probably different to mine, but i wouldnt be surprised it if was similar.....

I believe the block got 2 holes on both sides that's where the connection rod(s) throw or hammered out. I doubt the block was cracked in half. I feel sorry for the guy who will cough up his money out of his pocket. Too bad.

Yeah, hard to break a block in half unless u're putting 2000 hp in the motor, lol. It probably threw a rod.
