In honor to all our men and women in the armed forces presently serving, veterans and to all those who have perished while serving--

Memorial Day weekend is a great get-away or a time for variety of activities over the long weekend--yet, let's not forget all those in the armed forces...remembering the many memories that many of these men and women gave up (their lives) in order to push on the American spirit, dedication and committment for freedom and freedom for 'others'.

Let each of us in turn take a moment or more in remembrance of all those men and women who have gave up their lives, for those presently fighting, for the veterans....

Bless them all and give them the 'honor' that they so deserve! :)

Amen !!!!! God Bless the U.S. Troops and Pray for them. As you can see my avatar and my signature is in honor of the U.S. Troops past, present and future. Please have a safe Memorial Day and remember there are alots of American families suffering in silence but staying stronger because they do not know when their loved ones will come home or God forbid not at all. They are the ones that are fighting for us and went after the terrorists right just after 9/11/01 happened. My hat is off to them and my prayers go with them where ever they are, not just in Iraq or Afghanstain but everywhere. Nobody likes war but sometimes war is necessary to defend and protect ourselves.

We, Canadians loves to honor your Americans to respect for our freedom to make a peace.

When 2nd Lt. James Cathey's body arrived at the Reno Airport, Marines climbed into the cargo hold of the plane and draped the flag over his casket as passengers watched the family gather on the tarmac. During the arrival of another Marine's casket last year at Denver International Airport, Major Steve Beck described the scene as one of the most powerful in the process: "See the people in the windows? They'll sit right there in the plane, watching those Marines. You gotta wonder what's going through their minds, knowing that they're on the plane that brought him home," he said. "They're going to remember being on that plane for the rest of their lives. They're going to remember bringing that Marine home. And they should."

The night before the burial of her husband's body, Katherine Cathey refused to leave the casket, asking to sleep next to his body for the last time. The Marines made a bed for her, tucking in the sheets below the flag. Before she fell asleep, she opened her laptop computer and played songs that reminded her of 'Cat,' and one of the Marines asked if she wanted them to continue standing watch as she slept. "I think it would be kind of nice if you kept doing it," she said. "I think that's what he would have wanted."
