Congratulutions on your progress!

You might want to look into hCG I lost 50 pounds in 60 days with it.

I noticed you didn't mentioned starting/continuing to do some form of exercise? Do you consider if the "metabolic syndrome is part of your problem"?
Much success in continuing the downward trajectory in weight.

I'd strongly suggest running as fast as you can from that "diet" - it's extremely dangerous, can cause permanent organ damage and has hospitalized thousands or people.

No responsible doctor would ever support a person doing this to their body. (500 calories a day, and taking a hormone that makes your body think it's pregnant, which is what HCG is).

Where are you hearing reports of thousands of hospitalized people?

Me, my parents and a friend have all been on it there have been no trips to the ER to date.

Multiple sources including:

The teaching hospital here
multiple family practice doctors (I have 3friends who are doctors, 2work ER)
many specialists including endocrinologist, multiple dietitians and nutritionists

And of course many medical articles and professional medical resources - both print and online ... it's quite easy to find through a local university library, especially medical libraries.

Any diet that restricts calories that significantly is going to be a massive strain on one's system - this causes major stress on the organs because the reality is that you are starving your body, which then forces the body to start shutting down anything that isn't needed for immediate survival.

Worse, taking HCG (a hormone occurring during pregnancy) further stresses the body, and can have some long term metabolic effects - both for women and men (men aren't meant to be pregnant and fooling the male body into thinking it is - comes at a price.)

Frankly that you know so many people who've been on the diet is an indication that your GP/PCP may be making medical recommendations that "sound good" but can be harmful long term ... and they aren't telling you all the risks about what you're doing to yourself.

It's also worth noting that losing weight quickly not only is unhealthy, it also is almost always temporary - more than 80% of those who do extreme diets (including HCG) not only gain all the weight back, but gain an additional 5-15% more once they stop the diet (you can't stay on extreme diets for very long ... they literally will kill you due to lack of nutrients, fats, proteins etc which lead to starvation, and cognitive loss)

That's amazing so far! Good job. Changing your lifestyle and the way you eat is tough work but you seem to be doing well.

Did you end up having the gastric bypass surgery or are you doing this on your own?
Are you planning any kind of exercise program either?

Either way.. keep up the great work and let us know how it's going!

As my user name has mentioned before: the "problem of overweight"- is WHY?

Item: having thyroid problem-speed of which one's bodies uses the food one eat-can be "fixed" with pills which brings it back to "normal"

Another one: Diabetes 2. Why does eating carbs get converted into "fat" rather than used as "energy"? A solution could be taking Metformin which decreases "glucose/insulin" combined with exercise one decreases weight.

Again which is applicable to a specific person-hopefully your "family doctor" can "assist" re blood tests.

I understand "many persons" having the operation have not continued to remain at reduced rate. Just watch the TV programme Biggest losers which seem to show much effort to stay reduced and the difficulties entailed.

thanks,Reba

I have careful what i eat, smithtr but i told my mom i cant eat fried foods but im still on journey weight loss..

I can eat:
Grilled fish
Salmon
Salad
Sandwich
Pasta
Fruit&Vegetables

Sweet foods

I have careful what i eat

Get on that extreme weightloss program,,,, extreme makeover. Weightloss edition. This is good. Since the people go along with their normal life such as work and family. Someone. Heavy can shed weight faster than someone looking to drop 20 lbs.
You can do a big loss just cutting back on the bad food. What kind of exercise you doing?

It is highly unlikely that one gained over 300 pounds say by "over eating" carrots. Possible? What is the triggers actually used?

That thought from my user name is to back up WHY one got where one is NOW!

Eating 100gm/30z of baked fish as a start point for the rest of one's life does "appear " a bit unrealistic. Exercise?

From the TV programme Biggest losers- does show how difficult it really is -even with all the experts to "assist" the contestants.

Reflect on how one can do all of this at home without such "assistance".

Check the public library-Health section- on various books published to date. My user name's book is Ultimate Weight solution-the 7 keys of weight loss freedom Free Press 2003 New York

that extreem weightloss diet is getting really blasted it not healthy..i take acai and proportional eating to what i did plus exercice....
