Im glad to be deaf!!

I am also glad to be deaf and i am single and looking for someone to love me and not play games with me

i'm glad to be deaf because it means that when i use a public restroom,
i don't have to hear other people doing their business!
----------------
my five year old deaf daughter would probably say "i'm glad i'm deaf
because i can close my eyes and not hear or see my mom tell me things i
don't want to do!!!!!
-----------------
i'm not deaf, but my 3 1/2 year old son is. I think he would say that
it's great not to have to listen to my mommy nag at me all day! I feel
my hearing disability has enabled me to become a good listener.
----------------
i am glad i am hard of hearing so i do not have to hear the noise
in the new york city subways.
--------------
i am glad i'm deaf cause when my kids get the whinies in the car i can
use my volume control and not listen to it!
----------------
i am glad i'm deaf because my husband's snoring does not bother me.
-----------------
i am glad i'm deaf because the train going thru t own does not wake m
up in the night. (from your guide: And i'm glad i'm deaf because i can
sleep through thunderstorms!)
--------------
i am glad i'm deaf so i can excuse myself on the phone to telemarketers
who talk a mile a minute and i can say "i am deaf and i can't hear you!"
and hang up. (from your guide: Or you get fewer telemarketing calls if
you are deaf - unless you are married to a hearing person) i'm glad i am
deaf so i don't have to overhear other people's mundane conversations!
------------
i am glad i am deaf because the deaf community is so small and everyone
knows everyone almost and we bond very easily not like the hearing
community.
----------
i am glad that i am deaf because at night can't hear my parents doing "it".
I'm not deaf, but my parents are. I'm glad that they are deaf so i can
have friends over and scream and they won't notice
--------------------------------
i also am so glad to be deaf because i can drive : ) i am glad i am deaf
i sleep peace at night
i sleep good in morning
i sleep well through thunderstorm
so, what is there to complain about being deaf?

hahahahahahahahaha!!!!

I am glad to be Dead Deaf, anyone behind me can cussing at me real loud which would make them true idiot.

 at this thread.

I'm glad to be deaf cos I don't have to deal with so much nosie background for 7/24. :D

Thank goodness for my HA. ;)

I liked the one about snoring! Man, when my husband
snores, even if I were deaf it would still be a problem
because every thing in the house vibrates!:giggle:

My ex husband talked in his sleep and that woke we up. He working school
cafeteria and he would yell out in his sleep " No Carrots, NO Carrots!! And I would wake up and think WTF!

Shel,

I used to do the same thing as a teenager whenever my parents yelled at me. Eventually my mother caught on to what I was doing and would say, "Don't you even THINK about it" every time she saw me put a hand up to my ears. LOL!

Same here!!, LOL, also when my father tells me off I go "pardon" "pardon" then he would say "where's your hearing aids!" :giggle: then I Started to giggle, he would smile and gently tells me off then I do my punishment/or whatever willingly! I still got him wrapped round my fingers! LOL... I miss him a lot.

I love my HAs, but I also love having total silence when I want it !! :)

I totally love the silence I have these days. When I was growing up, my parents were to be feared by the "look" and not the voice. They never got loud or yelled. My mother would say in one calm, gentle voice, through clenched teeth, all one sentence mind you, paulericpeterhesskristinamariefritzie, get in here this minute. That got me, my 2 brothers and the dog all at once. But more than anything was "the look". Man, my mother could make milk curdle with that look.

I am glad I am Deaf so I can watch hearing people moving around the room, doing some silly stuff, doing some stuff they think they not being watched. It kinda like in the movie, person sit or stand still and look around and the world around you moves in faster speed.

wow that is surprised!

I like being deaf cause my husbands chanel surfing on the tv doesnt bother me at all anymore.

Volume control is great.

Sleeping through a violent thunderstorm when others are awake.... aaahh. ;)

I like being deaf because I can tune out from the world around me whenever I please in my own 'broom closet' for some alone time.

I am glad i am deaf because the deaf community is so small and everyone

uhm, deaf to deaf don't really bond in my observe, just "don't get along" or "hate each other" or "discriminate against" because of race, sexual orientation and religious.

same as hearie to hearie don't bond too, just "don't get along".

I sleep well through thunderstorm

what about tornando?. :hmm:

refreshing perspective

It is so REFRESHING to read so many positive comments. Most books about "deafness/hearing loss" treat deafness/Deafness as some kind of horrible tragedy. I don't see it that way. I associate the word "Deaf" with warmth and honesty and clear communication and Deaf-hugs. Of course, Deaf people can be unkind, just like anyone. Or they can be kind and helpful. It just depends on the person.

Do I like...

being severly hearing impaired?

I've never asked that question because I have been hearing impaired from birth. It's a reality that I have lived with for 55 years.

Do I like being hearing impaired?
Well...
I can sleep through the horrible music my kids love!

The words, "Hearing Impaired". :eek3: I don't like it. I would rather be Deaf than hearing impaired. :D
