I assume you are being facetious?Megladon said:I guess it all depends on what they were protesting, and how much i hate the protesters, if the conditions were right, yes i would fire upon them, women and childeren too!
Why would you rather die?funnycat78 said:if i was chosen to be drafted I wud rather die than goin ahead with stupid draft
The original scenario presented was a peaceful demonstration, not a mob of heinous criminals. There would be no lawful reason to fire upon them. Even if they were heinous criminals, that would require a law enforcement action and trial to deliver justice, not military.pinkster said:Personally, I don't think I could. Unless they did some kind of heinous crime, ya know.
Not a peaceful demonstration!sablescort said:...demonstrators occupied buildings and destroyed the ROTC offices...
...the governor of Ohio dispatched hundreds of National Guardsmen to the campus...

Are you not paying attention? There is nothing patriotic about obeying an unlawful order.Hermit of ozark said:I will have to follow the order like a true patriot.

And again I say:
1. no one is drafted into the National Guard; draftees are called into the Army
2. only the National Guard, not the Army, is called into action within the United States
The scenario is bogus.
The rank doesn't matter; it can still be unlawful, whether it is from a commissioned officer or an enlisted non-com.Hermit of ozark said:Well, an order coming from higher rank isnt unlawful.
There is nothing wrong with PEACEFUL demonstrations that follow the rules. If the protestors became threatening or unruly, then law enforcement officials can take steps to break up the demonstration.Protesters do get in other people way, they should have pick other way to share their voice instead of standing outside of the building.
Often they do use tear gas, water cannon, or "rubber" bullets, or techniques that don't require any "weapons". It depends on the location and circumstances. However, for self defense, only "real" bullets will do.If higher rank was more humane, they probably will supply non-lethal weapons instead of killing them.

You've watched too many movies. If you are in a situation that requires deadly force (gunfire) then you always aim for the largest, easiest target, that is the body's trunk area. Moving arms and legs are too hard to hit, and even if hit sometimes won't stop an attacker. Either shoot to kill, or don't shoot at all.DeafSCUBA98 said:If i were drafted.. i'll just probally follow the orders. and shoot them at their will.
but be more kind.. i'll more likely shoot on their legs or arms.
Nesmuth said:It pays big for deafies ages 18-27 to sign up for selective services. I seen what it does to people when they apply for government loans. It's almost like a short cut to approval. They do check for that when you apply for government loans. Even if you get drafted, youd get the F4 category which means base work in the continental USA. No bullets to dodge, no missiles to avoid, and most importantly no chance of getting yourself beheaded in the middle east.

i just wanted to post something here.... There are Deaf soliders around here in USA.. they work as national guard.. and yes Deaf can work as national guard.. like the one in GA. Staff Sargent Steven.. he's deaf and worked at national guard as terriost inspections.Reba said:Not exactly right. If you DON'T register for Selective Service, you will NOt be able to get a government loan or job at all. There are no financial rewards for registering, but there are big penalties for not registering. Every male (hearing and deaf) at age 18 years must register.
If you are deaf and drafted, and then determined to be 4F category, then you cannot join the military. That means no military service, none. No base work in the USA.
