If you went fishing and caught a fish?

Nature use to keep animals numbers in control but man killed off the natural predators and that is why we have to hunt animals now.

As for the pelican, it is awfully too big for the pelican to eat. Most pelicans do eat fishes that are small size fishes. I think the pelican was hoping that the men would cut up the fishes to small pieces so that the pelican can have some of them.

Wow, the sea lion really know how to catch and pull the salmon out of his hands. Whew! :cool2:

As for hunting... this has been like millions of years since it was meant foods for humans and clothing to keep warm.
 
I don't like fishing but can see joy it could bring many fishermen go on be good bird watchers and nature buffs I sure sometimes that's the appeal the quiet and wits against fish...
if you catching fish for food no problems if to do scientific stuff again no problem but do it for joy watching them die that BAD....
It like Bear Gryls HE EATS insects just for entertainment value on tv show it bad
 
I wouldn't recommend to catch fish closer to city because of high-level mercury. Yet, low-income or not, without fishing license, went go ahead and fishing and catch and cook at their home. I always wonder about their health. 0_0

I agree , but people would love hunt wolves to extinction and wolves help keep to thin out the deer . They go after the one that old or weak first and this thin them out . I am talking about man trying to kill off coyotes and wolves . We now have deer coming into our yard looking for food b/c they're getting over populated , b/c man has killed off most of their 4 legged
predators . The balance nature is being is disturbed by man . They do not take only what the need they kill for fun. :(

Most farmers and ranchers had killed many wolves and coyotes that the farmers and ranchers thought that they killed their cattle and poultry. They are the ones responsible for killing the animals for no reason. They were not hunting for food. Yes, we have lots of deer which overpopulated and we can hunt them with hunting licenses so that we can eat them for food and also minimized the deer population. Lots of hunters go for deer more than the wolves and coyotes.
 
You gotta look at it both ways. Famers must protect the sheep and Chickens from Wolves. Farmers gotta make a living you know. Just like shooting crows outta the skies cause they steal corn from farmers.

That is why it is not fair to kill them because of it. This is just nature and animals seek food. Maybe there is not enough food in the wild like the forests. It is hard to find food. We have too many crows and Ravens. Never heard of crows being killed for the sake of the corn. What happen to the scarecrow that would scare crows, eh?

What do with wrong kind of fish caught?

What do with all fish caught over size or undersize limit?


Sorry to disagree but I got experience with fish hobby. Both fishing and keeping many kind of fish. I was a member of fishing club but I moved and lost interest as I dont live on the lake anymore.

Catch and release isnt inhumane. Ive caught the same fish few different times at different lakes. Yes youre right some fish will not handle stress well. But it is mostly deeper water fishing that kills the fiash regardless what you do due to rapid surfacing.
Most anglers are very good at removing hooks and are very concerned about their environment those days. .not like in the 80s and 90s. I do not find fishing line from today as it is made different than long time ago most of time its the old ones I find.

What is truly inhumane is the callous treatment of the fish or its environment

Ive seen people toss aside alive carp into parking lot to be run over, ive seen people use bombs to bomb the water and fish all around is dead or dying. What bothers me the most about people keeping fish is not killing them straightaway and store them but allow them to gasp for air laying there.

Too bad for farmer. :giggle: He took over land. Farmer need learn how to outwit the wolf. Farmer need to be more clever and say sorry Wolf try again another day!

Shoot and kill is lazy farmer. Nature not reward lazy stupid farmer. Another will take it place. Perhaps nature will give farmer more deadly animal that wolf would have scared off Or eaten.

Nature lesson is wolf means less deer and moose and buffalo. Deer/moose kill most people annually vs any other animal combined.

Farmer kill wolf. Guess who kill farmer? The deer/moose who ran into truck driven by farmer that dead wolf would have ate for dinner earlier If not killed.
 
As a fellow fly fisherman myself,

I always catch-release so that other fisherman can experience the joy they have felt when they catch that particular fish like I did. Also for reproducing reasons of a specific species, it helps to release so more fish could come during spring.

Survival,

Personally I'd eat anything that is essential to keeping myself alive. I do enjoy eating fish, but if I catch one and it is dies too quick, I will eat it so it doesn't go wasted. A true hunter doesn't hunt to kill but hunts for survival.
