If you had a choice to pick a time you like to be born in, and tell us why?
I liked to be born in 1939 so i be a teenager in the 1950s. A great ERA for teens back then like the happy days show.

i would say 1600's because i like the way those times are.. the horse, the armors, beer, party, etc...

I concur. Or during 1600's, live with Native Americans, God's Bless society.. that will be blast time..

I wish I was born back in 1940's so I can be a mod chick in 1960's era mostly like 1967 ;)

I wouldn't choose anytime in the past. I like air conditioning, modern medicine, equal rights and all that good stuff.

Part of me would've liked to either be a hippie or a flapper though!

Being a Francophile and history freak, I would pick Sun King's reign to live in.

Must be fun to wear these neat dresses, go to balls ceaselessly and live in Versailles.

Ditto, Those dresses would make our asses huge! LOL

I would like to be born in the early 30's so I can be a teenager in the 40's... The fashion in the 40's were pretty elegant... Not to dressed up or to casual.. Just perfect.. lol.. :)

And having your life examining and espying by King Charles 14th because he doesn't trust you at all with your previous conspiracies to overthrow him...
That is the only reason he made all nobles to live with him-- so he can keep them on the dog chokers. An addition to buff up your history from a dark viewpoint.

I don't vouch for any time period to live... many have its down sides. I wouldn't want to live in 1600s to 1800s in America with the oppression and hardships for women... Perhaps I would love to be a young adult in 1920s when the franchise for women has been passed but then the incoming Great Depression would kill my feminist buzz...
I wouldn't mind living in medieval ages... the scientific revolutions, new thoughts, the secularism epidemic and the anarchies! But it is laced with horrible wars... ach. I would choose Netherlands (then it was called Flanders) in 1600s for their great masterpieces in the art! Or Perhaps in Italy in 1400s... the Renaissance period. I think I will live in the past in the areas where there are strong essence of fine art and the movements in Europe.

I would like to born in late 1910s, so I could be a mafia moll in the 1930s-1940s. Virginia Hill was considerable for my taste..LOL :Ohno:

Well, realistically as a woman I prefer today and now!

Times I'd like to peak into: Ancient Egypt. Shakespeare's England. The French Revolution Era, with a tour to America and a conference or two with Thomas Jefferson. Jane Austin's England (especially if Mr. Darcy were real).

That's why I like Native American's society in 1600's. Men and women have equal rights and everything. Of course, depends on which tribe but most of them does treat women as equal. Freedom and equality is at peak at that time.

Back in Caesar's time, Caesar had his respects for the Deaf.

Even there was a Deaf person at his dining table daily.

Or Egypt! In Egypt, deafies are considered to be semi-divine people.

I'm happy about the time Im living in now because years ago, we did not have tty, closed caption, pagers, vp-100, were not allowed to drive, were not allowed to adopt children, etc. Some deaf people were put in mental institute or were thought of as demons inside of us that we needed to be exorcized, etc. The deaf people were banished from society many years ago. Look at us now....we have all those wonderful technologies that enabled us to be more indepedent. We have deaf colleges, interpreted classes in hearing college...there's so much out there now. smile

I would like to be born in the 1940s so I can be a teen in the 1950s. :) I love anything to do with the 1940s and 1950s..movies, TV shows, etc.

Of course, we didn't have the things back then as we do now...what we have now is much easier like the Internet for school work, while back then, all they had was the library! :)

I dunno offhand what year it was that Microsoft first offered its stocks for sale, but I would love to transport to that time just long enough to buy up as much as I possibly can, whoaaaa.

Herm...i'd have to say late 1800's to early 1900's. Just something about that time really facinates me. They were so naive and trusted any new technology. I would have loved to have been on the Titanic (or have seen it. I wouldn't want to die on it though)

I read a good book called Deafening by Francis Itani that takes place then. I think you all would love it!! Great read!!

Well, I really was a "mod chick" in the 60s, and it wasn't all that great. :)

I am spoiled. I don't want to live in any era that didn't have indoor toilets.
