I knew I had to do something for my own personal safety as a deafblind person. Mind you, there are many, many deafblind people living independently, but in my case, I thought getting CIs was the right decision for me. None of us (whether we are hearing, HoH, D/deaf) have the right to tell another what kind of hearing "device" (for lack of a better word) to use.
