If USA was doomed, destroyed by Meteor Rock from outer space.

What country would you like to live or move to?

England? Africa? South America?

I looked up in Sweden website... and learned about their government...

After the 2002 election, 45 percent of Members of Parliament are women, which is a world record.

i chose somewhere else ? because there is no Austrailia on poll ! :( i chose austrailia because i can climb on awesome rocks down there ! :) my home wud be in melboune where i can hang out with wild n cool ppl on beaches. :)

I would probably live in Japan for a while. After I get tired of it (if I get tired of it), I would consider moving to South Korea or maybe to Scandinavia. Should I get tired of there, I would probably move to Germany.

What is weather like in Sweden year round...how hot or cold does it get?
I don't have any faint idea how cold weather is in Sweden since I went there twice during summertime. But my Swede friends told me that whatever 'cold' weather I felt in America is nothing or just 'chill' compare to winter in Sweden. In south area of Sweden, winter is not that bad compare to the north as well. According to Erik, 115 days of temperature below freezing point in Stockholm (that's where we plan to move in).

Beside long winter in Sweden, summer (May - September) is very -- how do I put it -- perfect (60 - 80F).

I love winter so I don't mind the cold weather at all.

That's one of many reasons why I love Sweden. But actually, Rwanda is the first on the list for numbers of women in governments and legislatures. Sweden is the second. Norway (3rd), Finland (4th) and Denmark (5th). Sad thing is that USA is 61th on the list.

There are many more things about Sweden that I like but I want to point out one thing about Sweden. On special day (annually), many stores in Stockholm were closed and there was a big family festival for families to fishing, picnicing, socializing, etc to develop the closeness between family, relatives and its children plus neighbors. It was a beautiful sight ever I seen. This year was my first time to experience that day. Nas and I will go there again next year and later on. I want to add that was where, how and when Nas made a decision to live in Sweden with me.

New Zealand is soooo beautiful. One of our Swede friends stayed there for a year as exchange student and she showed us the pictures and shared her experiences about NZ. If not for scandinavian countries, I'd pick New Zealand.

Yes, New Zealand is beautiful country but I never been went there. My brother and his Kiwi (New Zealander) girlfriend Katrina went there to visit her parents there. They showed me alot of pictures and films... wow beautiful country. He said that New Zealand is good place for the children upbringing. This country look like Ireland.

If a meteor big enough to destroy the USA hit the earth, then the whole planet would be affected, and not in a good way.

If anything was left, I would probably pick Australia because they still have some of the pioneer spirit similar to 19th century America, or Israel because that is an ancient Holy Land but also a young democracy.

Logically, if a meteorite struck America, then the western hemisphere would be no good. I'd probably move to somewhere like India or China because that is the furthest from America, me thinks.

Weather information would be invalid because the metorite crash will send ashes into the air and cover the planet with layers of ashes. Our weather will be affected no matter where we live.

I picked Europe....like in England. :) They use the English language over there, just like here....but they used different kinds of words that is slightly different over here (like "telly" for TV) but I can learn it....and I have to learn how to drive on the opposite side of the road. :) My great-grandparents were both full-blooded English (I never met my great-grandfather, but I knew my great-grandmother until her death in 1985), so it is kind of a familiar territory to me. :)

yeah mag had one of my mother's friend stay over for few days he was from australia. I have few friends who is new zealanders  (hint some in here)

My 1,000th post and I am wasting it here?

I chose Russia. :)

There is a brief story behind that vote:
Granted, I probably will live in Finland-- but I chose Russia mainly for Karelia-- a state of Russia that my grandfather and ancestors were from. My family said they are Finnish, not Russians even if their homeland is now part of Russia. Russia took that portion of Finland away during the Winter War (a "side" war during WWII between Finland and Russia). My grandfather moved before Russia's invasion. He fought as a Finn in WWII. I did research about Karelia's folk/traditional costume and found out that where my mother was born (Hameeliina) and the county of Karelia had many similarities in their costume and shared same influences in their Viking civilizations so I suspected my grandfather moved to Hameeliina since it was the next close thing to Karelia. Cool, huh? A friend said: "You are not a Finn nor Russian... maybe you are a Finnian??" :giggle:
