If I wear my CI, is it okay to go through security checkpoint at airport?

With my old HAs, I've set store alarms off and on some occasions, the alarms have turned my HAs off when leaving but never entering. Hasn't happened with my Naidas yet tho.
 
I avoid the walk through detectors because I am worried if it can damage my implant. That was what we were told when i was a kid, but i am sure its okay now-a-days with new technology. But I still go for the TSA pat down just to be safe.
