Idea on how to fall asleep?

That would probably kill you... 200 mg should do the trick, I'd almost put money on it. :)

The DEA... won't allow you... to... *facepalm* Do you know what the DEA does, or are you just spitting out random words again?

Also, the maximum safe dosage of Keppra is 3000 mgs per day. It is an anti-seizure medication prescribed to children as young as 6 years old. 1500 mgs a day isn't really that impressive. The psychiatrist or doctor who gave you this prescription solely to treat sleep issues should be punched in the face and fired. ESPECIALLY to give this to someone who has any history of mental illness as it has a rather disturbing rate of causing suicidal thoughts.

I have never had thoughts about killing myself, nor have had thoughts about harming others, either. They gave it to me because I was VERY low risk of doing harm to myself or others, and I am still taking it 10 years later, and in fine shape. The reason why I can't go over 1,500 mg is because I'm also taking another medication that has 600 mg itself, for a total of 2,100 for six pills, so that's part of the reason why. And it wasn't to treat my sleeping issues-- it was to treat my Tourtte's Syndrome, and it has helped a LOT.

........O.o What did you do? Have a bet on what I would eventually say?

Goodness no. You said only one person got it right, what you were referring to. Since that was me, I'm just doing a little victory dance, that's all.

I actually had to go back and check, because before I could get all the way down, I was out. I was asleep for quite a LONG time, and now I am awake, and fresher than ever. I feel like a new man, and ready to do new things. Today is a new day, and I feel like a new person.

It has 50 Mgs of Diphenhydramine which is normally 25 mgs in most sleep aids. I take this stuff when I forget to refill my Ambien and man does it knock me out!

Diphenhydramine is just plain old Benadryl. They make some sleep formulations with it really expensive, like the Nyquil ZZZ stuff, to make you think you're getting something special.

ChicagoBlues, what does the total mg of the pills you take have to do with anything?

The DEA is forcing some pill wholesalers (pharmacies buy their pills from the wholesalers, wholesalers buy it from the pill makers) to limit how much pain medication they can buy. I don't see what this has to do with Keppra.

It has a lot to do with how I do stuff-- the total mg is very powerful-- it's strong enough to knock out many people, but it's not for everyone, though. Not many people can handle the unusual combination of the medication I am currently taking, and have been taking for a long time, and it's never needed to be changed, because it WORKS. My current doctor knows that if it needs to be changed, then I'd need to be admitted to a hospital for safety reasons, and that hasn't happened yet, so they know it's a working combination.

So yeah....sleep not on its way again. But got to admit my bed is so confortabke i cant leave it....

My bed ain't comfortable, and yet, I still managed to sleep a LONG time. How I did that, I'll never know.

How did the doctor determine that you have a tourette syrdrome? My childhood friend that I havent seen for solong. He had been back and forth to the hospital for years until he was around 15 to 17 they found out what went with him and determined that he has T.S. so He is doing better with medicine for so long. He works at the VA hospital as a janitor but he is very happy because it pays way better than SSDI. I dont remember him how he acted like this and so. I d like to understand better about tourette s. I did google it many times but it has not hit me because of my childhood friend.

I believe they ran some tests, but that was 21 years ago... I was diagnosed in 1993, and have had it since then, and I had one of the more severe cases back then, and from 1993 to 2000, they tried multiple medications, none of which worked, until 2001, when they found the correct medication for my use, until 2003, when it failed me, and then they changed it to my current medication, which has worked well for more than 10 years, and over the years, my T.S has improved a LOT, and now that I'm 30, it should continue to improve, and hopefully it will.

I remember taking Ativan and Atarax (different times) to help with sleeping. You could ask your regular doctor to prescribe sleeping pills for you.

You decided to see doctor or parents decide or school?
