hey everybody. ask me all the questions you want :D I was born deaf, and got a cochlear implant at the age of 4. I am now 15 years of age. I have been one of the most successful speakers of all deaf kids. I was the 4th person in Utah to get a cochlear implant. I really enjoy wearing it. I am stilling using the same one I got when i was 4! It's amazing how awesome this science technology works! I'm so thankful for it. :D If anyone has any questions they would like to ask or would just like to get to know me, I'm fine with that. At school, I decide to join the groups of everybody else. I feel I am part of them, and that I'm normal. I can speak and hear them just fine. I have plenty of great friends. :D And no, I don't know ASL. I started learning it before I got a cochlear implant though. But quit, it was too hard! Ha ha.

Hey, im new and do you have any deaf friends?? Well i dont. And i go to public school in Arkansas, and i can talk REALLY good, lol and i only have one hearing friends, and i play in Track. Do you play any sports?? Plus, i love to dance!!!! Can you hear music, sorry that i ask you of that. Some deaf people couldnt hear musics

Welcome Gourleam/Andrew!

True that some deaf people cannot hear music. But both of you (cutedancer & gourleam) have CI at young age and I am sure you guys can hear things fairly well than most of us. I grew up wearing hearing aids. I know that my hearing isn't perfect but I am happy with the way I am. I can speak well and I learned ASL when I was 13 yr old.

Welcome to AllDeaf and please enjoy your stay. You'll like the people here. Please come check it often and learn many new and neat things from us!
