Wow that s first time I ever heard that anyone wish that they re deaf instead of hearing. Indeed very rare IMO.

I can agree with you on that. Why do I want to lose some ability of mine :dunno2: and this doesn't help !

If there's no permanent cure but there's 2 treatment in primary and secondary treatment is from hearing aid as primary and cochlear implant as secondary.

More than 50 million Americans will be hearing loss by 2050, also I believe that can be true because growing more senior citizens as some of them are hearing loss due aging.
