I no longer feel confident talking on the phone...

Haha, no I was kidding -- not all sidekicks are the best ;)

I have considered using IP Relay, so how does it work? I'm asking because I have to make a phone call tomorrow about registering for classes at Uni.
You are a person who is able to make phone call but have difficulty fully understanding what other people say? Works great for late-deafened people.

If so, www.sprintcaptel.com is much better than relay. It gives you closed captioning for your telephone without buying captioned telephone hardware. You just place a regular phone call and read captions in your web browser, takes only 5 minutes to sign up. Try it!

Sign language speaker?

Gettting a videophone from Sorenson and using their Voice Carry Over service is a wonderful way to have conversations.

Yeah, get a Videophone so you can use the VCO, but the best thing it can improve your ASL when you get one.

Dixie, I suggest you use the Sprint IP Relay via Internet. With Sprint you do use GA at the end of each sentence and then conclude your phone call with SKSK.

Feel free to PM me if you need more info. ;)

I absolutely, absolutely, absolutely love this service. I've been using this since it first came out which was recently. I used to have the CapTel phone but it kept breaking and now that they've come out with the WebCapTel I no longer use the regular CapTel phone and it is just GREAT !!! :)

Wow! I didn't know about any of this! Talking on the phone is my biggest problem because I have a hard time decoding words. I am a pro at lipreading and since I can't see the person on the other end of the line I just avoid making calls alltogether. Off to go research!
