One of my good friends grew up in the Philiphines...she went to the Deaf school there. For the students to be able to attend the school, the parents must take a mandatory sign langauge class in order to be able to communicate with their children. If they dont, their child gets kicked out. Wow!

She said her education there was the same as the education of the Deaf schools here since her school was set up by peace corp volunteers from Gallaudet Unviersity a long time ago.

Very interesting story.

She told me today (we went to the KidsFest at B&O Railroad Museum) that every 2 years they would get two new volunteer teachers from Gallaudet University. That was interesting because I was supposed to do my student teaching internship in the Philippines in Spring of 2002 but 9/11 happened.

I was an RA in Dorm 5 on 9/11. A lot of stuff has happened since. I have a friend who keeps trying to get me to help him set up deaf schools in Liberia.

I was into my 3rd semester of grad school in the Deaf Ed dept and I was working at OSWD (Office for Students with Disabilities) before they moved into SAC when 9/11 happened.

U probably know my brother...lol

;) I get along with my sisters now, but not when we were kids.

My youngest sister is PUNK! as in Punk rock band. We get along great even though she is covered in tattoos and has bright pink or green hair ;)

I have always liked the punk rock culture since the 80s. I did dress punk for a while and sometimes I wish I still can now.

I wouldnt get too many tattoos though.

All my friends were punk, she picked it up from me. I only have one tattoo - she went overboard ... a little.

One of my friends used to be the drummer for Rancid.

Someone should enlighten his parents about how disturbed their son are. Perhaps they might be able to get him help before it's too late.

Ah, there's the rub.

If a woman is intelligent enough to have a prestigious university degree, and has enough of her own money to live independently, then why on earth would she be interested in marrying you?

Women can be picky about their mates, too.

Has it ever occurred to you that you may be alone NOT because of Aspergers but because you have a racist, elitist attitude that other people notice and don't like?

Racist attitude and flaunting wealth these days is not usually popular with intelligent classy people.
