How is it childish?

Beige is boring!

Show off your personality with colors!!!

You are big girl then you need beige to make looks like mature.

Just kidding...

Well, if they made hearing aids a different color instead... people would still complain. Nothing ever satisfies anyone. ;)

There are some people who still wear standard beige when they have darker hair colors. I think it looks a tad strange and very obvious. I always wondered why people do not use their HA or CI to match their hair color. I think matching your hair color is key if you want to camouflage your device a bit not your skin. Also, smaller hearing aids is also key. I think some people just do not care for the attention, so they blend it with their hair color. I don't see anything wrong to argue about that. I personally don't care for attention at this point, so I blend them with my hair color. I used to wear beige when my hair was lighter. I remember they did have all colors for all hair colors back in the late 80's when I started hearing aids. I saw them in my audiologist's office as samples. What is different now is that they have all crayon colors and wacky things like seeing circuits and wires or maybe glow in the dark or flashing lights (who knows if they have those). Some people want colors because they want to be a bit wacky and fun. That's okay, too.

I tried to get blue for little g but they were out and sent beige. We get different colors of molds each time. I think the colors are fun. Also he pulls them out and hides them so right now we have hunter orange. The other thing with him is, he's almost 3 and people think he is ill behaved if he makes loud noises or gets upset when he can't communicate. It's self centered, but I like for people to see the aides and know that he's deaf and not a brat.
