the assignment is requires me to ask a parent of a deaf child what language did they choose for their deaf/hoh child and why.

How did you come to this decision? Help of family/friends, doctors, or your own?

you can answer here or email me at sarah.wintman@gallaudet.edu:hmm:

Why don't you find someone in person and ask them? We are not here at your beck and call to do your homework for you.

I hope T*** W***** doesn't mind her name being tossed out here as a subject of study.

I'll answer your question if you answer my questions...
trollface.jpg

1) Give me your life history, Down to what you ate each day at the precise time you ate it.
2) Tell me about your passion for the Deaf and ASL in 50,000 words.
3) What disability prevents you from being able to get up and find out the answers in person rather than asking strangers on the Internet?
4) Explain how the Deaf, Cats, and Turbo are all interconnected.
5) I want you to write one sentence for every user on here that has posted within the last 5 days. Examples being "Oink, you're really cool!!"
Anyone else want to add anything I forgot?

sorry about the name drop. and i did not mean to come off as insulting. I did not mean this as beck and call, i just thought i could find some parents who were willing to share their views.

Oh no!!!! Here's another question!!

6) Why are clapping cats and ferrets the pillars of Deaf society?

Thank you for spotting my oversight! I hope the ferret and clapping cats gods will forgive me...

..and not to mention catnip vesus nitrous oxide addiction

Oink, you're lucky my kettle boils slowly or you'd be looking at a repair bill for a coffee-soaked keyboard!

I thought that was self explainatory :laugh2:

Well, I reckoned swstudent's not too bright if he/she posted this thread 3 times and then wanted an answer ASAP without even saying please!!. Goodness, you need to do something for someone else before asking them to be your homework assignment online!

I'm not going to be sarcastic because others have been much better at it than I could ever hope to be.
I'm pretty sure the goal of your assignment (I'm guessing you are doing some sort of DeafEd class at Gally) is to ACTUALLY talk to Deaf people and hearing parents of Deaf children.
You have three excellent sources available to you- Kendall ES, MSSD, and Gallaudet.

You are doing a disservice to yourself by seeking help from random strangers.

Go find living strangers that you can shake hands with and become acquaintances with them.
