Hurricanes with female names are deadlier b/c people don't respect them

So our 1989 "Hugo", FL's "Andrew" were small potatoes? Sorry, there is no proof.

btw, hurricane "Sandy". Male or Female?

This is not part of a study on hurricanes with male and females names, the general population think hurricanes have ' sex gender 'b/c of their names.

I think the fact that hurricanes with only female names don't get respect has nothing to do with whether people respect them or not. From 1953 to 1979 hurricanes only received female names and since 1980 to now they alternate between female and male names. Did the study take into account the hurricanes pre-1979 in their study or only take into account those after 1980? I think the lack of respect probably has more to do with the news media having their reporters standing in the middle of oncoming hurricanes giving their reports. The people watching these reports come away with the feeling that since these people are out on the beach doing their reports the storm must not be too bad! It's not the wind that's the problem, it's what's in the wind that is the problem! If some people don't respect the power of a hurricane, so be it, it's just Darwinism at it's best!

I have wonder why are the weather reporters standing outside when any huge storm is coming . I hope they get double pay for doing this.

I and many people are probably waiting for the first news reporter to get beheaded by a speed limit sign or something else getting airborne in a hurricane force wind. Once that happens you probably won't see reporters in hurricanes anymore.
