Hurricane Katrina killed 17 Deaf People!

oh jeez that was waste of time tell us that they were dead
smh i really hate when they do that

I think that his name was inadvertently placed on a list of the missing, not
dead, but everyone just assumes the worst and someone declared him dead.

I got the email from Deaf Newsweekly. That is extremely disgusted !!

LIST OF DEAF CASUALTIES SAID TO BE A HOAX

An email that began circulating two weeks ago claiming that 17 deaf people died in Hurricane Katrina is now believed by many to be a hoax. Mike McConnell (deafsurvivors@hotmail.com) wrote an email titled "The Cruelty of Unverified Death List of Dead Deaf People" indicating that several people on the list have been found at shelters or with family. Said McConnell, "As a perverted, sick joke, the original sender gets his/her jollies by passing an email list of unverified names of dead deaf people knowing that such a list can traumatize family members and friends."
