HUGE HELP ....classes soon

Well, you should research your options. School districts all over the country are cutting back on services and might not provide you with what you need.

I know they have to adhere to ADA laws but there are always a way around they can use what with the budget deficits.

Anyway, Minilee, what's the harm in trying out at CSDR? You might like it there. If not then go to a hearing school with deaf services.

Best of luck, Minilee.

thanks you are right i can always change but i will see nothing is wrong with trying.

wowww very important thanks for your time its so cool to have all this information it makes so much sense and you did make so much effort thanks.
i will see what i can do let me take notes lol..
LIGHTHOUSE

they are cutting back wow?
but for what reasons..that means no matter what i will be driven to a deaf school because they cant adjust. my life is over. you see my main issue is since im older i get a say so and i have to make a choice do i want the benefit of a hearing school or a deaf school.

Cut backs because of state and Federal funding issues.

Nothing is set in stone, and your life certainly isn't over. It is only just beginning.

ut in high school, you should be fine, The kids are more mature, and it is too late to put you in LD class because they want you to have a regular diploma instead of modified diploma.
Ugh, actually no. High school SUCKS socially for a lot of dhh/disabled/different then the norm kids. You may not get tracked into LD classes, BUT if you dont suceed with minimal accomondations, a lot of times you get lumped in with the resource room kids anyway.
I really would look into going to Deaf School. Jillo is right. Mainstream schools are cutting back on accomondations, BIG TIME. If you have the oppertunity to attend a sizable dhh program or even a Deaf School, GO FOR IT! The experiance can be AWESOME and totally unlike hearing/mainstream schools. And I agree with Shel, many Deaf Schools are quite good. I thought the California Schools for the Deaf were pretty good academicly...And most Deaf schools tend to have a significent number of kids on the academic track.

I thought I said that. In high school, they usually pull kids out of LD class to give them a chance to have a regular diploma instead of motified diploma if they feel you handle it.

So MiniLee, it all about how well you can handle hearing class if you want to succeed in a mainstreamed school. Oh and do your homeworks, or they will blame your deafness for that too and pull you out. Edited: I wanted to say if it doesn't work out for you, deaf school is a great school. I know plenty of deaf adults from deaf school who have great jobs. We just don't need people making it seem like it is an awful school because of the method and language they use. Hearing school is not "superior", it is just a school where people go to learn.
