How to think like a Christian

The Heretic said:
I am well aware of the Christian explanation of sin. However, this completely fails to answer the problem of foreknowledge. God knew exactly what would happen with his creation, what decisions and actions Adam and Eve would make, long before he created them due to his perfect knowledge, and he is also responsible for the rules of morality because he is the author of morality. Therefore, since God is omniscient and all-powerful, God is responsible for the actions of his creation. If God can stop evil and he desires to stop evil as well, then where else did it come from, other that God himself?
God's thought is NOT yours because God's thought is TOO FAR than your thought.
I respect Jesus the man. Jesus as God is little more than mythology and owes a lot to the religious propaganda of Paul. There's nothing to reject except falsehood and propaganda.
Jesus is the HISTORY! Josephus (an unbeliever) witnessed Jesus Christ on the earth and wrote his book. Josephus' book is HISTORY!

*waits in anticipation for Heretic's delicious replies* I am but an ever-continuing student. I really appreciate all the energy and time you and other HB members have put into making these posts in your forum (Hyperboea - I found out what that term meant later on, too) introducing those interested to new concepts (or labels) of what have been used and continue to be used in discussions. I really detest the manipulative intent behind words some people use in an attempt to bend others to their ways of thinking, and it helps to know more about these... attempts. Great way of empowering ourselves!

Because God bestowed upon Man free will and he (Man) botched it?

Arguing on the internet is like competing in the special olympics...

...because even if you win, you are still retarted.

I don't recall saying that "god's thought is my own."

Besides this obvious fact, can you even try and answer my question at all?

Is it true that God has perfect knowledge? If yes, then God knew exactly what will happens in the future. If God knows what will happens, with absolute certainty, and God created people, who will make mistakes, then God chose that to happen, because he is perfect and all-knowing, and all-powerful. Therefore God is responsible for everything in his creation.

No, this is false. Josephus did not "witness" Jesus Christ on earth, because he was born after the supposed crucifixion. Plus you will need to read his books before making silly declarations like this.

Also, check out my thread "Why the Gospels are not Historical" on more information about the historical nature of the Gospels.

Can it be? A heretical fan?!

Thanks, Liza. I think by writing about radical viewpoints or new developments in theory the person learns much faster than s/he would by merely reading or listening alone.

Since memory is not a very good tool to absorb difficult concepts, our brains also require active application that show how these new concepts or theories work in the real world. You can always post, too!

Well, I hate to sound cynical, but i confess i suspect this manipulative intent is almost constant in all of us - just that some of us conceal the intent better than others by using honeyed words and poetical rhetoric that flatters and kisses ass instead of outright condescension.
