Earlier today, the furnace here at my house got replaced with a new one, and I was supposed to have been out of the house at 8 AM, but I was too deep asleep to wake up on time, and after they turned off the heat, I never noticed it become cold, so I wanted to share a few tips about how to stay warm during a furnace replacement construction. Here's what I learned today:
First of all, if you live/sleep on an upper floor, make sure it's at the front of the house/apartment, which tends to be one of the warmest points of any place, as I discovered.
Secondly, I also discovered that having a shirt that family gave me that's related to semi truck driving will do wonders to protect me, as this shirt kept me comfortable, and I never noticed the house cooling off, and only realized it when I woke up.
Thirdly, always make sure you have a thick blanket handy, just in case. I have a couple, but one I favor more than the other.
Finally, because my house uses a gas oven, always make sure you have some money handy for lunch or dinner, and drinks.
These are things I discovered, and wanted to share.
