I have googled him and there is a lot of information. I am reading some, but for simplicity, Jillio could easily give everyone the name of the article or articles she was refering to so we could all read it. I'm not asking for a link or the article to be posted here, just the name so we can all read it and have a more informed discussion.
I

It's like trying to get your kid to the dentist to have a wisdom tooth extracted yet it comes with with all the arms flailing, screaming, foot dragging, and hyperventilating. Not worth it until the kid comes to his/her senses.

Exactly. Until you find the motivation to do your research and inform yourself, nothing more that can be done. Once she comes to her senses, she will realize it is her responsibility, and she has been given plenty of information to find what she asks for.

And "norm" is still a topic that require reading several papers to understand the scope of it.

Exactly. What is it with this Nestle's Quick type of desire for answers. Just stir it into the milk, and magically you have chocolate. Talk about a need for instant gratification. GAWD...it doesn't work that way. Get some freaking motivation if you want answers. Especially when you are asking for answers to the same questions that have been addressed time and time and time again, with links posted, research posted, and even research emailed out to members that were interested in it.

Hey, souggy...got that rusty coathanger handy?

You claim to have provided the links again and again, but clearly you are refusing. Why are we to believe that you have provided it in the past if you flatly refuse to do it now?

Don't believe it then. It doesn't matter to me one way or the other. There are numerous members here who remember it.

Obviously, FJ, you have no interest in educating yourself, or you would have already taken advantage of the information you have been provided and spent your time reading and learning instead of challenging and demanding. It is a waste of my time, and my education, to even continue this discussion. You have been provided what you need. Use it or don't use it. Makes no difference to me whatsoever.

That's her M.O. Again, it's the attempt to extract a wisdom tooth here.

You are showing your ignorance. Perhaps if you didn't filter out information so that you only get what you think will support you, you would be less likely to make so many mis-statements based on a lack of understanding of the sequence of the conversation.

Want a PDF on the geographical distribution and identifying physical characteristics of 5 newly-described species of pythons on Papua New Guinea?

Wow, now that's specific enough to ask for a title.

:laugh2: No thanks. I would prefer to think that pythons don't exist. (Snake phobia, you see."

My apologies, glancing at a reprint on the table was easier than going into my e-mail cache for a "friendlier" topic to use as an example.

No problem. :giggle: Don't mind seeing the name in print...just don't particularly want a PDF with specifics.

I think you have shown the truth through your responses.

We've all seen the truth, FJ, but obviously it is not what you are seeing. Go do some research. Or don't. Makes no difference what so ever. Just don't claim to be so well informed and balanced until you find the motivation to do so.

It is so presumptious to think that I haven't done tons of research. Just because I chose a different path than you did, doesn't make me uninformed or ignorant.

If you have done tons, why is it you have such difficulty accessing a piece of research for which you have been provided all the information you need? You should have it down by now, and had the article in your hand hours ago.

I'm not the only one on the thread. I think open and clear discussion would be benefical to all.

F_J, no need to justify yourself to such people. You've done good for your child with loving devotion. That's what count here. And your child will thank you for that.

As I got older, wearing 2 hearing aids started causing me problems from feeling dizzy and migraines so I stopped wearing them for a while. Of course, I missed hearing sounds and needed them to help with lipreading so I started back with one and have had one since then. No problems with dizziness or headaches. It is weird how, for some people, being able to hear from one ear is better than two while for others, none is better but then there are those who needs two. Just weird how that works for many of us.

I've worn one HA over my left ear for many years. The sound in my right ear is so distorted that I can't make any sense of it. I have not worn anything over my right ear since I was 14.

You are the one requesting research and complaining when it isn't provided to you in a downloadable format. That has virtually nothing to do with a clear and open discussion.

Putting deaf children at risks for language delays for the sake of oralism is something I would never ever do and I cant believe that there are people who accept this.
