HOW TO: Connect VP200 to a Wireless Network

You don't need specifically a gaming adapter -- you can use any AP.

Vp200

Thanks for the tip, Alex.

I asked the last 3 Sorenson techs if I could make it work wirelessly, all said "no".

some people mention that these "sorenson techs" are idiot. that is incorrect. some of you misread his message.

You CANNOT connect your VP-200 to a wireless router WIRELESSLY. VP200 requires a hardline network like ethernet cables. that's it. VP200 works anything with wired or wireless routers. :ty:

Sorenson didn't say "You cannot use wireless" , Sorenson recomended not to use wireless connection but it's the owner decision to hook it up themself. The main reason of not using the wireless is because of upload speed. VRS terp will have much harder time to read person signing and due the fact it will delay the 911 communications. So, Sorenson recomended using ethernet at all time. Ethernet give the best quality than using wireless.

Now, many deaf people cannot afford top of the line wifi systems, they ended up using lower price wifi system and it reduce the quality of the video images. So, it will be bad for VRS terp and 911. IF the owner hooked up wireless, it's their responsibility for 911 delay, not the VRS.
