How rid of fruit flies!!! ROFL!!

I want a share story with you all.

I was so laughs thatI just talked with my friend on Vp

She bought a banana and It's ripe. She was sudden surprised that lot of fruit flies around in her kitchen. She could not rid of it! she called her dad for help. He comes to her house. He put ripe banana and other fruits inside the dishwashing machine. Let a door open for 20 to 30 minutes. All fruit flies went into the dishwashing machine and ate it. He shut the door closed and turns it on! She can see very less fruit flies in her kitchen! :shock:

wow.... thanks for tip! that's a really excellent and simple trick - not requiring a yucky poisonous bug spray all over kitchen.

Do you even know what fruit flies are and how small they are? I don't see how this will affect the plumbing at all. Can you elaborate? Do you mean the banana will clog the plumbing? Maybe a better idea would be to turn on the dish machine for one minute, turn it off and remove the banana.....

Yeah one to two mins turn off .. also Mostly Dishwasher have inside with Screen that any solid foods cannot thur the plumber too :)

also I heard that put food inside the oven too :eek: but I don't do that .. I prefer at dishwasher machine!

You have common sense....
Yes, I know.... I talked something like piece of fruit clog pipe.
My wife put many waste fruit/vegetable into disposal. Still problem with our pipe system.
She has to stop dump waste into disposal

Most dish wash machines do not have any disposal machine.

Wow, I heard same problem from my friends. I just wonder what year of disposal?

My parents use heavy disposal for 10 years and no problem so far. They got better brand and powerful disposal.

I tries to figure it out what's cause problem and avoid from the problem.

Our dishwash machine and kitchen's pipe system is not excellent waste flow. Hard to explain in write.... something like little bend.
The kitchen sink - water won't drain. Something waste little piece food (kind like pet food) got stuck at pipe. I have to go down basement to unscrew pipe to clean inside.

We always avoid to get clog in our kitchen's pipe. I guess 5 years without problem.

Our house is 50 years. I am not sure what year of disposal. It must be 25 years old. Many many many times, my wife can't hear dispoisal keep running. Also, she is not good pay attention to feel any vibration. She always forget to turn power off. That's why our dispoisal is burn out.

Phillip has nice explain about fruit inside the dishwasher. Simple to rid of fruit flies. For me, I will not put piece of fruit inside dishwasher.

Got it! My parents house is only 10 years old that's why they have no problem with that since. Most of my friends who have problem which their house is over 15 years old. I guess it's whole about size of waste pipe.

I always turn disposal on for 10-20 sec then turn off at my parents. Never walk away from disposal or it will burn out due dry and overheat may damage. Thank you, I feel ready to install the disposal at our house by myself.
