How old were you playing with your first video game? and What kind?

My dorm at Austine School had a Vectrex computer system, which is a small black and white monitor with vector graphics. I wish I had saved it. They are worth a lot of money nowadays.

never heard of vectrex. what does it look like?

Mine looks kind of like a black Mac Plus or Mac SE with a sideways screen that runs on vector graphics. And two control pads that look like big fat backwards NES control pads with little mini chrome joy sticks instead of arrow buttons. Game cartridge (?) slot in the side of the main unit.

Ah, I see. I found that picture from google.

OMG, I never see that one. Why didn't I see that one a long time ago. Hmm, interesting!. Look like rarely to me.

LOL yep, that's it! There are a lot more games for it that the ones that are displayed there. Those screen covers aren't required, but they're designed to protect your eyes because the vectoring can burn your eyes. I've always wished somebody would have perfectly ported the "Minestorm" game to the computer. Also "Caverns" and "Bedlam" and "Star Trek" (not related to the Paramount franchise) and several others ... well, all of them, lol =) They were simple games that didn't require all your brains and 16 hours a day 7 days a week for 8 years straight to get the best gear and all that MMORPG stuff. Sometimes, I just want something simple when I don't feel like Klondike and other solitaire games.

Oh, my sister and I found a game .. I hope this isn't considered off topic .. might have to port this to another thread, hmmm, well, it's called Luxor. Brings back the old simplistic Arcade style feeling to the modern world. That's all I'm gonna say about it for fear it may stray off topic too much.

I once tried some Vectrex emulators, but they were all really poorly made. Individual ports for each game would be a lot better, but that's all I've found so far. We found Luxor on ebay. I think. Maybe it was Amazon. Now I don't remember, haha, one of the two.

Cripess....tell that to me Im almost pushing 40 (37 yr old) and I never forget my Atari 2600 and that Atari console with motorcycle handlebars.

Playing the Playstation 3 makes me totally FORGET about what I used to play on the Atari 2600. Technology evolves..o well lol!

when i was little girls till i was adult i playing super mario orginial video games but im really love that games!

I remembered my brothers and sisters playing video games with Atari back in 1980's and I played with them when I was 8 or 9 yrs old that was Pacman and Galaga. Then I played old nintendo with Super Marios, Top gun and Zapper gun at 12 yrs old. I stopped playing video games at 18. Then I bought Playstation 1 at 27 yrs old (It's been a long time) and I played with my fave classic game Pacman and Galaga. A old friend of mine I know very well, her deaf brother played playstation when he was 9 yrs old. Today, he's 25 yrs old and owned many like PS123, nintendo, Gamecube, XBox. He couldn't stop playing video games. I understood his habit. Of course, Everyone likes to play video games.

How old were you playing with your first video game? and What kind? Atarti? Computer game? Playstation? Gamecube?, Nintendo? XBox? Handheld?. How long have you been playing?

Now I use TV plug and play with classic Pacman, Galaga and Wheel of Fortune. I gave my PS1 and old nintendo to one of my nephew and niece. I'm planning to get WII fit (not now, maybe later)

This old console was my first game.

i was about 10 in 1980, played on "Space Invaders" video game in the arcade in town somewhere, it was wicked back then thought 20Ccents a game was expensive!(quarters for you Yanks). In 1983 i purchase my first home computer, a Sinclair ZX81 with 1Kb Ram lol, then 6 months laters a 16K Ram pack was added, awesome fun, only had the ZX for about 1 which seemed a long time when you're this young. Wrote lots of games from magazines, I only bought ONE game, in a cassette tape - the famous ZX81's '3D Monster Maze' it ran my imagination wild, especially programming and all that. Later I went up to Atari 600XL, then 800XL, copied craploads of games, just about all the games above mentioned I played them all, including Defender, Blue Max, Quasimodo, Jet boot Jack, Bruce Lee (lol), BallBlazer the list went on. Then moved up to IBM compatible (ha ha) an old 8088 version then a Mac then back to a PC all over again.....continues to this day...
