I wanted to vote $150, but that option was not available. Anyway, that's what I'm willing to spend.

The last time I paid full for any video game console was the Playstation 2. I paid the full $400 for it. I didn't buy any game for it until a year and a half later... Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. That's when I realized that I could have saved my money.

Later, I waited before buying the Platium Edition Gamecube for $150 and the Halo Edition Xbox for $170 (included Halo game). Almost all of my games cost me $20 except for games that I got as gifts or games like Zelda. :)
 
Not plan to buy PS3 soon. I haven't finish games and buy 'greatest hit' games. Until PS2 stop making PS2 games like Psone stopped making games.

Also I still having not finish on Xbox games and GameCube games.

Good thing, I can buying less cost any games from eBay or GameStop stores.
 
one thing has puzzled me.

Sony made betmax and UMD and only runs on sony products right?

But with blu-ray, it can run on other companies' products and I thought that was weird since Sony made it and should be on Sony products too...
We know that Sony Pictures will only be on blu-ray...for example Spider-man is owned by Sony Pictures and will only be on blu-ray. not HD-DVD. So that pretty much sucks.

Panasonic and Samsung also makes blu-ray players too and I thought it was odd that only Sony gets to make them. I never even seen a mulit company UMD player or a mulit company betamax player. uggh this is so confusing.

Well, BD was introduced by multi-companies, such as Apple, Sony and Disney.

UMD is owned by Sony but not BD.

LOL!!!! Maybe that'll be so when the PlayStation XVI comes out. ;)

As for me, we are Playstation and XBOX 360 people....we are entertained enough with the PS2 for the time being and we've just gotten our XBOX 360 about six months ago - we're finding that there aren't too many kid-friendly games available on the XBOX 360 console...but it does help that some of the original XBOX games are compatible with the updated console.

Anyway - I think I'll wait for the price on the console to go down before we consider buying one. We've got four kids - we need the discounted price. ;) I'd say 150-200 bucks in a year or two would be fine. :)
