How many of you are always looking for ways to save money on text messaging?

Sounds like that works out well at least it's unlimited. :thumb:

Mine is a local prepaid service. I bought my iPhone 4s and paid for the phone and everything in advance. I just went with what I can afford right now and haven't switched to a big carrier. I wouldn't qualify for some plans as some users on the forum (deaf/HOH plans)...at least I don't think I would. I've never looked into them before. I have unlimited everything just no 4G (mine only has 3G, I believe). However, I rarely call people myself and immensely busy so maybe a slower connection keeps me focused on school and so forth.

I like my cheap phone budget though. That is what matters. :D

I have unlimited also, but that's not what I intended to do. Plus, cell phone features aren't quite as cool as some free text messaging apps, which I can do far more with, and just one reason why I use them. Text messaging on a phone itself (to me, at least) is boring. Some of these apps I can do more with.

I just emailed AT&T the application for TAP (unlimited plan). I hope they approve me. :fingersx:

Can't you just stroll into a store and do that? That's how I got my Cricket phone, unless there's not an AT&T store locally?

Then why not title the thread "texting apps?" Why not mention types of apps that do this in the original post? Your thread title leads to another discusion.

I did mention free texting apps in my OP.

I got email from AT&T. They said my application is not clear. I have to go to the store. :(

I just saved more money by switching to framily plan. As it is I am already saving money- but it would be cool to add more people up to 10 people and we all can pay 25 bucks a month for unlimited text and voice, 1 gb data.

Hmm. Well, I'm not sure how to resolve that, but may I suggest that you take a look on your phone? The reason why I say that is because some phones have a TTY option, like mine does. You may be able to use that?

The "TDD"/"TTY" mode on phones doesn't turn your phone into a tty, it's a mode where you can connect an existing TTY via a special cable (via your headphone jack) to your smart phone.

In order to use TTY mode you still need to have a portable TTY with DI connectability.

The TTY option on cell phones is just a setting to allow you to connect a TTY to the phone. Everyone I have checked you connect the TTY like you would a headset to the phone. It does not allow you to use just the phone as a TTY.

Just a bit of a reminder. I had already posted this information at post #32.
