How many disabled (in a wheelchair) members on AllDeaf?

Now, where is your 'do it sitting Ability' pix??? :D

LOL, I haven't quite performed any amazing feats that warrant a YouTube production (yet). If my wife has anything to say about it, I may never be able to "ride at the edge" just for fun. She loves me too much and wants me to stick around to be with her and the six (6) grandkids we've been awarded with from God for not killing our own three (3) kids.

As for my do it sitting abilities, I will mention that while the wife is away I will play! Stay tuned because it is only a matter of time for the day to arrive for me to do something really exciting to get that adrenaline rush and have it captured on film (or digital bits as the case may be). :D

P.S. For now, how about a posed shot of me and my real-to-life avatar?

Lots of people say that. Yeah, we get to go to the front of the line at amusement parks, get that front row parking spot at the mall and never seem to have trouble making friends with the curious little ones. And yeah, it probably would be a lot of fun too IF we could get up out of our chairs to reach that thing on the shelf that we'd like to look at closer. But we can't. :( And it is a real pain (literally) when you miss the "transfer" getting from the toilet back in to the chair and crash to the floor (especially if it is in a dirty public restroom). :ugh3:

So watch what you wish for; you might get it and not like it. ;)

Anyway, it's 9:30 PM here and I need to start getting ready for bed. That routine takes about an hour to wash up and change clothes for many of us. The morning routine takes even longer.

  Dave

P.S. And yes, those folks in the pictures are having fun! :) It is the right choice to make. No sense staying at home and away from the general public. We have legs; they are just round. It's our own personal trademark; those little tire marks across people's pretty, clean floors. ;)

Nvm..

Oh, holy moly! It's been impossible to see for me to see a man
driving in the car with his wheelchair?! :jaw: That should be must be surprised
about that! WOW.

Anyways, I have a wheelchair, I have a ID disability is that which it hanged on mirrored hanging from the windowshield. This wheelchair is occassionally that for going to parks, museum theme-parks, mall, and/or et cetera except groceries, stores. I don't like to take a long walk that has more than 2,000 feet.
But, sometimes, I would want to sit-up and walk to looking at things in shopping, museum or etc, that I would want to sit-up from it, to look at
things what I would be curiousity about something is that been very interesting or may be big-issue for me in public places.

I wouldn't let the fact that he is a "quad" slow me down from joining him in his van and going for a little spin.

beep beep!

Awesome!! Sure was good to see a photo of you and your cool dog! :thumb:

Hmm...I hadn't realized that aspect of how difficult it must be for you and others when shopping, etc., and viewing display items on shelves and not being able to observe the ones out of reach closer. Like for a 'hoh' person as myself, if I don't hear or understand something, I'll kindly ask to either repeat or rephrase what was said...as for you, surely, if you were to ask 'anyone' or store's employee (yea, when they're not busy, etc.) to help out. Although, I can understand the frustrations it might be for you and others in these types of situations.

Thanks though for sharing your 'photo' and looks great! :)

Very interesting thread... I didn't know you all are on the wheel-chair... I know only 3 persons who are on the wheel-chair... One is former ADer and two ADers. Unfortunlately I can't name the ADers here because they don't post this thread here.

Thank you all for share your positive posts here.

^^Sorry...but I just had to complete his line-- :D

Anyhow, terrible that your friend's wheelchair isn't doing what it's made to do anymore...hopefully he'll find another one and even better whereas he'll really appreciate and being more convient to get around in. ;)

LOL.. that is sooo true!!!

Alex, if he's got medicaid or medicare.. they provide a powered wheelchair and misc. for his needs. Get your friend to call his medicare and find out where he can get those under medicare.

If he doesn't have medicare, ask around the churches to help buy him one. Most of the time, they do help. Just my 2 cents.
