I shopped for food and necessities/snacks before the cold hit us too...stocked up on TP....:giggle:...lots more eating and pooping when the weather is bad and all (most) people do is eat, watch TV and get on the net....

Well, if it weren't cold all winter, I would, but since I live in a region where cold is common, I have to just grin it and bear it. If I had my way, I'd invent something that I could attach to my cart and melt the snow for smooth sailing. I just didn't have the money to get food before the storm hit, and the timing of the storm didn't help, otherwise I should already have what I need.

Do you mean the Ben Sawyer bridge to Sullivans Island? If so, it was replaced.

Not sure...but the bridge had to be crossed before going into the City...was a very lonnng swinging bridge!...2 lanes going and 2 lanes leaving (2 bridges)....It was windy that day we had to cross it...I almost freeked out whenever the bridge seemingly swung back and forth...never forget it!

Really sunny that my eyes are super sensitive... and tearing up. The usual routine especially when Spring is slowly on it's way

Oh, you meant swinging like swaying. I thought you meant swinging bridge like a swing bridge that swings open and closed. We had both kinds.

What you're describing are the two old bridges over the Cooper River. They were both replaced by the Ravenel Bridge.

TCS and I used to run the annual Cooper River Bridge 10k Run on the old bridge. During the run, the bridge was closed to traffic. With just runners on it it used to bounce. They had to prohibit the Marines from running in time as a group because they made it bounce too dangerously. It was interesting, to say the least. :D

There was a weight limit that prohibited large trucks on the older of the two bridges (Grace). Also, because it was so narrow vehicles were constantly getting their side mirrors knocked off.

After the new bridge was built they took down the two old bridges.

That's it....bridge was held up by cables and over the river.......and swayed to and fro' when it was windy or a lot of traffic....lanes so narrow!....Feel lucky to be alive, it was harrowing...:giggle:

The new bridge built to replace it looks much like our Dames Point Bridge here in my City....beautiful, especially at night with all the lights....

So they didn't do with those what they did with the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge across the Mississippi in the St. Louis area. That one was part of Route 66 and sometime after the new bridge was built it turned into quite an attraction for hikes, bikers and events such as Eagle Days held in January.

Nope. The old bridges were in the way of navigation, and the streets to the new bridge were diverted from the old ones. Besides, the new bridge had walking/running/bicycle lanes built (with toilet and water facilities). The Cooper River Bridge Run now uses the new bridge. No one misses the old ones; they were hazardous and expensive to maintain.

Know what ya mean...I have blue eyes and are very, very sensitive, wear sunglasses all the time...have drops...very dry eyes.

Overcast but nice. Took advantage of the warmth to jog for an hour, now sooooo calm... :)

I need some of that..... someone tried to hack into my account here, and I just about lost my mind. Now that I know it's safe, I am starting to soothe me mind.

I hope spring weather come sooner than their prediction!

Wirelessly posted (ZTE X501 Phone/Asus Tablet)

It's 5 here, and ice starting to show up after the recent snowstorm last Saturday.

Cold rain right now but will be changing over to snow. Prediction is for 4-8" by late afternoon.

Steady snow here. I went out to shovel, not really thinking. Did my steps, then the sidewalk, then shoveled for my neighbor while I was out, and when I finished my steps were covered again. :0

It's sunny and supposed to get up to 78-80 degrees today.
