How do you sign...

One way is "WEAK."

Example of use: "That was a lame excuse."

Another use of lame is "My horse came up lame." How would that be signed (in case that's what's being asked)

General note:

Some signs that appear to be spelled are not just because the signer is using English signing but because the word is a loan sign. That means, a commonly used word is spelled in a very specific way, as a unit, not individual letters, often with an additional movement, such as circular, up or down, swooped, arched, etc. Sometimes some of the letters are omitted.

Example: ALL
If it's "all of these things lined up" = A>LL

"all of these things stacked up" =
A
L
L

"all of this group" = (left and right hands make a circle like "FAMILY") while spelling "A-LL" with both hands

Another example: CLUB (especially Deaf Club)

Signed from shoulder, hand moving forward towards other person, with smooth transition between letters. C-L-U-B

Another use of lame is "My horse came up lame." How would that be signed (in case that's what's being asked)
Sign HORSE, then using classifiers show which leg, and then with bent-3-hand-shapes make the limping movement on the appropriate side of the body.
