How do u tell when u had a flat tire?

Like most here indicated or pointed out, it's usually when it's wobbling or vibrating that is a telltale sign that a tire is flat, also, if (especially in the front) the steering pulls to one side, that's another indicator as well that a tire's flat.

Glad that you were able to get help and have it repaired. ;)

Well, yesterday I was on the freeway, and all of sudden my truck was swerving and felt fast "banging". I knew it's the tire, so I pulled over to right shoulder and sure enough the tire blew and is destroyed. I had to call AAA to assist in putting spare on.

Here is picture

Whoa, what did you do run over a shark?

last night, i was ready meet my hubby and 2 of my friends so i hop in my suv and started back but i feel funny not right so i drive back parking and i check and gulped my back left is flat so i pgr my hubby and 2 friends, my hubby picked me up then went out eat with friends.. after that my hubby worked on it and put spare then this morning i went shop for fix flat tire and perfect it work.. pah.. cost me 9.50 not bad

jazzy, don't feel too badly. I had a flat tire and I did not feel anything as well.

After driving for 30 minutes to get home, I decided to stop by to grab some takeout. Before I get in the truck, I saw that my tire is oddly low. I was nervous, but I drove home nonetheless, and I still did not feel anything. The next day, the air in tire is all gone.

It does happen, sometimes you just can't feel it, if it does not happen very quickly.

my mom had flat tires several times and she did change tires self but i never change tires before!

A mile without knowing you had a flat tire? That's rather odd because when it happened to me a few years ago, I felt the difference immediately. The vehicle itself was vibrating abnormally, so I pulled over and looked. It was a flat tire.

Thats right... it happened to me twice.. first i felt tire rolling like bumpy.. i quickly stopped and got out of car and checked all tires.. sure enough one flat tire...

Second time I was on Freeway... i drove about 100 miles away.. all of sudden i heard explosion then felt bumpy.. i stopped right away... sure enough tire was blown off and torn...I cannot understand why Jazzy did not feel the difference of driving with good tires or flat tire.. she should had of feeling tire is not smooth.. too bumpy...the car vibrated...

I agree, I should have too but I still do not know how to replace a flat tire :-x

Ask Roadrunner to teach you how. :D

Best Lifesaving tip if you have a flat tire out in middle of nowhere. IT happened to me before 20 miles from the nearest town.

When I got home from work today, I parked my car and started walking toward the house. I heard something hissing. I called Hubby out to help me search for the source. He found a nail in my newest tire. Ugh! The tire wasn't flat; I must have just picked up the nail in my neighborhood. I thank God that it didn't go flat on the interstate while I was driving home at high speed. Hubby took it to the tire store to get it plugged up.

I'm also glad that I noticed it before I had to go back to work tonight. It wouldn't be good to be late to an assignment. :)

AH, I remember my flat tire blow out about 15 years ago on the highway. I felt something while driving so I had to pull over and realized I got a flat. But the good thing is I had my cell phone pager to call my brother to contact "AAA" triple "A" service. Save me lot of bucks. Whew!

So far, it hasn't happened to me yet :fingersx: but years ago, when the whole family including me was in my father's car going on a day's drive, with my brother at the wheels who was just learning to drive. As we were going along the highway, my brother said that the steering wheel was pulling to the one side hard & he could barely managed to hold the wheel so Dad said to pull over ... sure enough, a flat tire.

You don't change your own tire?

Yep, that's one common sign that you have a flat... when your car steers hardly in one direction.

I've had that happen to me a couple times. :)

Another sign would be that your car moves more loosely than normal. You know how you're driving straight, but you turn your steering right/left a little... you can feel how stiff the steering is. However, if you had a flat... it would feel like your car's steering is too lose. That's because the car is running on 3 tight tires instead of 4, so it's loose. ;)

I've heard of that trick.

For me, I can tell by looking at my tires. ;)

I don't understand that tip.

Anyhow, I just step on the tire. If it can't hold on then I know there's not enough air in it.
Not always 100% accurate, but that's one way to figure out, using more than one of your senses.

It's pain in neck with my truck. The spare tire is just ridiculously hard to get out under the bed. And I am not even strong enough to unscrew the tire itself. Even me standing on it won't unscrew it. I am serious. And if it happened during the night, then I would think it's more safer for me to call for a help instead of leaving myself open to trouble since I am a woman.

It only needed a patch, which was a free service. :)

I don't understand that tip....
That tip is for checking if the tread on your tires is still good or if your tires are going bald. It doesn't check for tire pressure. You need to use a tire pressure gauge to determine that. Check your car's manual for the correct number.
