Yesterday was my first time I expiernce a flat tire and I kept drove it for alike a mile or more. OOPs, damaged to tire.Believe it or not it was my first time after drove for 30 years . I do not want it repeat so big "Joe" would not get upset with me alike he did yesterday. Ohhhh well of course I felt so bad because I do not want it to blame on my deafness. Anyone, especailly deafies can feel it and knew it was flat tire? Is it because I can not hear it or just me being not aware of it cuz it was first time for me?

A mile without knowing you had a flat tire? That's rather odd because when it happened to me a few years ago, I felt the difference immediately. The vehicle itself was vibrating abnormally, so I pulled over and looked. It was a flat tire.

Was it a blowout or a slow leak? How fast were you driving? It seems like even if you don't know it's a flat tire, you can feel that something is wrong, and you need to pull over and check it out.

I don't think deafness or hearing makes a big difference when it comes to detecting a flat tire. It's the vibration and wobbling that's noticeable.

wow that long? My first flat tire was 23 years ago with my first car. I heard a loud BOOM, then my car shakes really bad that I had to pull over. Me and my brother had to change a tire that we don't knew how...I was 16 and he was 13. haha... It was really bad that my father wasn't thrilled about buying a new tire.

You will be able to tell. I had a few low air couple times because you will feel that the car is not running smooth or acting normal. It is almost as if you are riding on a rocky highway instead of smooth highway.

I'v had flat tire...was attempting to take my car up to 65 mph but steering was way off so i pulled over and found a flat tire. the other 2 times was parked when i found flat tires...not a shit u can do but have it either repaired or replaced.

When i bought a new car...drove around for a while with it shaking really bad and turns out i had a ripped tire but still have air..they were immedately replaced. dont panic if u have flat tire...takes 15 minutes to change the tire yourself...but if u are without a jack or a spare...panic lol no no im jk..jut call for help.

I had a flat tire on the 1994 Honda I had few years ago and I was about more than 20 miles from the nearest town. I was out in middle of nowhere and luckily I had a spare tire and had to drive up to 50 mph or so. I hate donut spares, ha ha. When I got a tire that was going flat (moderate leak) it was feeling like it was wobbling and moving a little slower and I decided to stop and found out it was a flat tire. The tire was HOT!

It's not a sound issue, it's a feeling thing. You should be able to feel it, not hear it.

Secondly, knowing if you have a flat depends on how the flat occurred.

One of the few rules that everyone should have learned in driving school is that the driver must check his car before driving. That includes looking at your tires, headlights, taillights, etc.

Ouch, I'm surprised that you did not realized that you had a flat tire. When I had my first flat tire, I felt something went boom, then I could feel my car was definitely acting funny, so I pulled over immediately to find out whether I ran over something or what, I got out of my car, I realized one of my tire were flat, I didn't know what to do since I didn't know how to change a flat tire, and no one taught me how either, so I got in my car and sat there and cried quite a bit, I know it's just a flat tire but it was very late at night and I was afraid, so I decided to drive very carefully to the nearest gas station, since I had no other choice cause I didn't want a stranger to pull over not knowing if this person is going to be helpful or not.. I could see some fire sparks coming from the mirror where the flat tire was located at and I tried to remain calm and kept driving until I got to the nearest gas station.

I wish this vehicle would vibrate abonrmally but it does not. I only noitce it was steering off that is when I made decide to stop and checked it out. Oh well.

I think it was slow leak at first but it was really flat when I checked it out. I was driving slow and roads need to be repaved so I deal with alot of potholes and rough. That is why I did not noticed at first. Yes ur right, my husband said it does not matter if I hear it or not. Many hearing people would still have keep drive and did not know it.

Yes I checked about couple times every time I make stop to drop off and recheck it to make sure it does not flat now. :)

I agree, I should have too but I still do not know how to replace a flat tire :-x

If it was a slow leak, not a blowout, maybe that's why you didn't notice it right away.

I forgot to add that I couldn't get to the nearest gas station so I pulled into someone's else drive way and the old lady was soooo nice enough to call my dad after midnight but he did not answered his phone, so she called my ex husband at work instead. This happened on the way home from dropping my ex off at work and his work is near downtown Cleveland. :Ohno: I was 8 months pregnant with my first child when this happened.

I had experienced with flat tire but not while I was driving. Both time it was parked car and within a week with each other. Oh man that was coming from a pot hole on my old street and they finally fixed the damn road.

One time I had an accident *not my fault* and I thought I hit the curb and had a flat tire cuz I felt the truck was moving too slowwwwwww and I could get it move fast enough but sure enough it was an accident. Damn young mother!!!

i have experinced flats many times.. can feel shakin, or feel funny one side of car go down, etc.. or feel something banging on the vechiles if ya have 6 or 8 ply tires...

Well, yesterday I was on the freeway, and all of sudden my truck was swerving and felt fast "banging". I knew it's the tire, so I pulled over to right shoulder and sure enough the tire blew and is destroyed. I had to call AAA to assist in putting spare on.
