Yesterday morning, before go to work, I went to Burger King and ordered some breakfast with a coffee. I accidently hit the coffee and spilled over thr sidekick 2. and then I cleaned it everything as fast as I can. it works. it smells like coffee. I tried finding a way to open device and i can clean inside.

You're screwed!

Just kidding... I don't know. Why don't you drop it in the sink filled with soapy water and then quickly dry it? ;)

I once accidently dropped in bathtub while I was relaxing, then I quickly dry it... but it was screwed so I replaced it with a fine of 100 dollar... heh

A sidekick that smells like coffee is better than a sidekick taken apart and you cant put it back together.

in general, electronics can survive water as long it's off. If u let it dry completly and u can turn it on and it works fine. If it's on, it might be less chance to work good again.

I agree with vamp, u re screwed! :aw: and nozobo, to replace ur sk2 :aw: before i accidently dropped mine in water I tried to pick quickly as I could as dried up, unfortunately, it f**ked up vibrating and flashing no reason.. replaced it

I also agree nesmuth

I was thinking about it and do it. I dropped it into the water for 3 seconds and took it out. And then clean it. I shaked it back and forth and the water of inside came out a lot. no power, nothing. leave it for 3 hours. 3 hours later, I push the power on and nothing. I beat it up and finally the screen is up and it shuts down. an hour later, it finally screen up and evertything is ok. but the battery is empty so the charger is connected to sk2 but it didnt show. I was like wtF?? I need to open this device, motherfucker.

I suggest you call T-mobile and ask for a replacement. They'll want you to send your current SK back, pay $90 I believe, and they'll send you either a brand new or refurbished SK2.

Good luck.

Yeah i walked in the bathroom and i got blamed!!!!

But I do have a warranty.

I decided not replacing it. Wait for sidekick 3 in a few months. Who knows trade in sidekick 2 for 100 bucks off as same as last offer.

Well. If u open it by yourself and then void warranty.

You can't turn power on after it wet.

Water+electronic = rust. Only way to stay power off and use dryer gun to take dry then it will work.

Got sad news! Trying to open SK2 will only worsen them. You can easily damage them by trying to prying it open. There is very special tool to get it open, and it is very expensive tool. It was designed so well to prevent you from opening the whole SH*T. Sorry to break the news for you. I happen to have good friend who got special tools that opens it up and warned me not to fool around with them. He does the electronics for living.

Technically, u scared me. But I eventually forgave u on it... No one perfect, it was funny to see the sidekick going off very loud with a fog horn and flashing like it has its own mind... Gladly it's buried at T-mobile heh
