same here... that's one of the reasons that my aunt's pratically my best friend. she takes the time to tell me the little things. :scatter:
 
My sister is only sisters that knows sign language and sometimes we would tell things front of hearing people while they just look at us signing. Not knowing a thing. We would laugh or whatever together and the hearing people look at us nut then look away and do their thing. Pay Back, Huh?

Now we both are mother of 1 daughter each and we tell things about our daughter. Its awesome relationship that we have because we can talk either speaking or signing. :D

My other sisters are used with voice and that goes with my mom. Tomorrow easter I know I will be left out so I'm just gonna be real busy with my daughter or bug somebody. :D
 
notice we all have the same common peeves with hearie family members -- but hell we are DEAF and PROUD of it!!!!!!!!!!! \o

welll for me - i always seems to get along with my family just fine (including relatives as well) and same with my bro's friends and my sis's friends as well ..... cuz i can hear well with hearing aids and blahhh - heh i have 20 years of experience tho ;)

yeah it's the best when some deafies are old enuff can't be with family 24/7 so sometimes bein on own is the best so u don't go up the wall feelin u don't get what u want but blah like that right stephy? ;)
 
My family is all Deaf so communication is never a barrier for us. When we go and visit our hearing relatives, they do accomodate us by making sure we understand. My sisters and I interpret for my parents when they do not understand what is going on. We have a strict rule to make sure no one is never ever left out. The saying.."I'll tell you later" is forbidden in this family. ;)

:werd: that ALSO peeves the fuck out of me too!!!!!!!! the "ill tell u later" bullshit doesnt work with me :mad2: and besides im usually the last to know of ANYTHING and it typically takes MONTHS later if not already a year has passed :roll:

U know after a total one yr of assessing myself and relizing one thing i can't be around hearing poeple cuz i can tell u one thing they just want to tell me later, or i would be the last to know, but i relized one thing, IM proud to be deaf just am sick and tired of dealing with hearies who can't concept that we can do anything and be anything we want and they are freaking out thinking we are fucking retards and watching them reject us, but its of no matter to me I FUCKING am PROUD to be deaf, and not only that i have wonderful deaf friends who i consider my family, sorry mom and dad ur now the second family considering the years of u putting me last to know basis and the first to feel what rejection is all about i simply feel that they love us yes but do they understand us? no they expect us to think we re nothing in communication and doesn't think everything we do is important and communication was important. I'm grateful for mom for learning sign but has she kept up? no cuz she's too busy with her own life, Well i also have alife and would like to be able to talk to my family without feeling like i wouldn't be understood. Sigh at them....
