How do the hearing impaired learn about music?

I am dyslexic and I struggle with certain aspects of music and was interested in what about you guys ?

I go look up the lyrics and and then listen to the song repeatedly. I still miss words sometimes

I hate it when there is a song being played on a show or movie and there is no CC for the lyrics . When I did listen to music I would read the lyrics it helped to understand what is being sung.

What aspects are you struggling with ?

Unless I find the lyrics somewhere...I never understand what the song is actually about..I just miss too much. Naturally, it's the music that gets my attention most.

As I can see, a deaf relative can enjoy and appreciate the meaning behind the song. Although, I heard there are some who are tone-deaf and has the difficult time to understand the music played.
