my mom didn't much care about me. my mom and me are too different opinion.

my mom did never control my life, she know. I am okay with my life, I have a job, live in my apt, have a car and motorcycle and a lot of travel etc.. no drugs and no alcohol etc. my mom is proud of me.

They are fond of my lifestyle, but they wouldn't take credits for having a great lifestyle that I am living. Simply because they did nothing but guide me with suggestions.

Depend... Honselty, I spend many years at boarding school than at home... I was brought up by strict and obey the rule at most time which is different as at home... At home, there're no rules, we should follow to... but one thing I remembered my parent's positive is my deafness, that's all.

My mother kept on telling me to not rush to get married but focus my own life first.... because she had me when she was 17 and rush to get married and then end in divorce... that's why she don't want me do the same as her...

long story... I learn to love my Dad and forgave him in 2000 after 10 years no contact.

I don't know if I love my mother or not but she is in my thought sometimes... I last saw her was September 1995. She disappeared... Nobody knows where she is...

My mother neglect me a lot to spend her time on drinking but she often said that how much she love me.

My Dad prefer to spent his time as "playboy" and pleasure than his time for me but he often said that how much he loves me...

Before I moved in with my boyfriend, my parents tried to convince me to wait until I got married, but they eventually gave up realizing that I was an adult who was going to make my own decisions.

When I was growing up, yes. They were very overprotective of me because of my blindness. After I moved out of the house, they began to understand that I could function on my own without my blindness being an issue.

My mother was very open-minded, but my father wasn't. (Both of my parents are deceased.) Given how stubborn my father could be, it was pretty difficult to convince him of anything he didn't want to believe.

My parents were very strict in raising me, so you'd better believe that I followed their rules!

I absolutely adored my parents. While I didn't like being overprotected, in the long run I think it helped me to stay out of trouble and become the adult I am today.

No, not really -- although at no point during my childhood did I ever feel as though my needs weren't being provided for. We lived in a very nice home, I had the latest clothing styles and attended some of the best public schools in our neighborhood.

Yes, I am. I'm very grateful for what my parents taught me growing up. I learned how to be a responsible adult, how to advocate for myself and how to look at the bright side of life instead of feeling angry when things don't go my way.

I moved out of my mum's one month shy of turning 18.

No. Mum never had any say in me living with a significant other, but she didn't want me to rush into anything major such as starting a family, marriage, etc.

No. She doesn't have any say in my decisions, but I always let her know before making any major decisions so I can get some advice from her. She lets me live my own life, as it's my own journey.

Mum's open-minded. Dad isn't quite open-minded with me yet - we only started getting to know each other as of two years ago.

Most of the time, I followed Mum's rules whilst living under her roof, however I started rebelling against her and her rules when I was 17. Late I know LOL.

Mum would want to sit down and talk to me first before I make the decision to get married. She wants me to be happy, and she always makes sure I'm comfortable with whatever decisions I make. I also want her to get along well with my significant other before we get married.

Yes. I can't imagine life without Mum - she's one of my pillars.

No. All throughout my childhood, we lived in poverty as Mum was a single mum of 4 kids, and things were never easy, but we all pulled out of it and we're all now grown up.

Yes. If it wasn't for Mum, I wouldn't be the person I am today, I wouldn't be at uni, and I wouldn't be doing things I've always wanted to do. She taught me so much about life.
