How common is your surname in America? This is a database where you can enter your last name to see where it ranks. It was interesting to see where these last name ranks up to. I thought I'd like to share that with you guys.
 
My last name is 35,703. But that doesn't surprize me. I've never met anyone with my last name that I am not related to. Anyone know the last name Plessinger?
 
My last name is surname number 390 in the USA. I am in small world! LOL
 
P is surname number 27146 in the USA. go figures.. my last name is not common! LOL..
 
My surname is 41... that's smallest... :eek:
 
i tried out my grandpas last name.. his last name WASNT even in the database :jaw: wow! guess its RARE! hehehe..

surname number 1439 in the USA.

It's a common last name, but the spelling is rather uncommon.
 
My hubby & I are not Americans. I put our last name as curious...

My maidname surname number 12082 in the USA.
My married surname number 7669 in the USA.

Mine is suprisingly high out of 50,000 surnames. I'm in the top 3%. :eek: That might also explain why Liebling:)))'s name ranks so high too. Our ancestry is from Germany or France, based on comments I've heard. :) Dave
 
Interesting!.. i check as i knew that surname of *Smith* are very popular in USA even in Europe too .... it say number 1 ..but my last name is not Smith thou lol....
