I'm feeling kind of anxious, nervous but excited for everything thats going to happen this week!
I'm excited for the 4th of july, But kind of sad about it because for the past 4 years I've been in the 4th of july parade with the band, handing out fliers and holding our band banner. it's going to feel weird not doing that anymore since i graduated high school. My house is really close to the 4th of july festival. The police will block the roads for people to set up their booth and we will have a car show, etc. I'm thinking about getting a Henna tattoo, it's very popular here in my town. Hennas by the way, aren't a permanent tattoo, it lasts for about a week; like an air-spray tattoo. After the festival is done, my family and I will eat dinner at my house and then drive over to my grandparents house to watch the fireworks thats being held at my high school. The high school has enough room for all of the fireworks, so the whole town comes and watches it. Plus being at my grandparents house; its easy to get in and out once the fireworks is started/over.
On friday my 15 year old sister will be getting her wisdom teeth out, she's getting 4 of them out of her mouth. And i'm going to be nervous about it, because she does not tolerate pain at all. And I'll probably be helping my mom take care of her on friday since my sister will be in pain and all groggy from the medicine that she will be given. So, i might stay home on friday to help around the house and keep things clean and comfy for my sister. Since i been through 2 CI surgeries, i kind of know what she is going through! So, its my turn to take care of her since my sister (kind of) did for me.
Saturday-- I will be getting a haircut at 2 pm, and i'm thinking about getting it cut a little bit short. Around 4:30ish my friend who is deaf will be picking me up to go to a staff orientation. We both signed up to become a volunteer (more like a summer counselor) for our local deaf club thats doing a Deaf Adventure Camp. We are going to a camp called Camp Kern and we will be staying there for a week. I'm really excited about this, i haven't been to one deaf event for such a long time since i started band. My whole high school career has taken up all of my free time, including band and band was basically my whole schedule. So, i'm really excited about it.
Plus, since i'm a summer counselor, i don't have to pay for anything, the room, food, etc is completely free, its being funded by our Deaf community board. That's a bonus because of all the money that my parents have to pay; My sister's wisdom teeth, our trip to disney world, and my dad's shoulder surgery that he will have done in august. It's a lot of money to be paying!
