House on Pending!!

Damn the bank. My real estate agency found out there was a frozen pipe in the house. They dont want to deal with it but to sell it. So the bank accept the other bidder for higher price. Boy the bank are greedy with money. So I hope the new owner will deal with the problem with frozen pipe it can be costly. Duh the bank for not witerize the house before the winter come.

I will keep looking for another house and let u know what up.

OH no, sorry to hear about this as I think you wouldn't want to have these problems when you are in the house, be safe than sorry..... As I know I've gone through 20 houses as there's never one perfect house. You may never know the next one will better, keep trying and take your time with it as well.. Wish you the best of luck..

Dealing with frozen pipes is easy these days with new technology. A small heating element is placed on a pipe going into the house. It can be improvised with a

tea http://www.surplusandoutdoors.com/ishop/images/877/12V-IMMERSION-HEATER.jpg warmer

taped to a pipe. Wrap it around a lot of flame proof insuilation to keep it warm all night.

One of the fun parts of home ownership is trying to cure the ills in the homes. Thats why we have fantastic guys like Bob Vila.

Oh dear, I'm sorry that you can't get the house, you wish...

Don't give up until you will find better one...

hey, keep your chin up!!!

we almost got a house a few months ago (my hunny's aunt) but it was so old, built in the early 1900's and had no shower stalls, needed new electric wirings, garage needed to be taken down/rebuilt, etc, you name it!

my family advised us not to take it!!! it would have been a MAJOR HEADACHE!!! cuz it is much easier to purchase a house with VERY FEW REPAIRS like painting and stuff... but nothing with electric, etc... because it can go way over your head with stress/hassle... TIME AND MONEY!!! so maybe it wasn't meant to be, even though it is a very cute house in a great location for you guys- but hang in there!!! you will find something if you found this one! right!??? :thumb:

Also have to remember if you aren't a handy with tools never get an old house cause the plumbing and electrical is very costy to replace... I usually like to have a house that's about 10 to 15 years old... if I had a guy that's a handyman I'll go for those old victorian homes I love those especially those big long porches to sit outside on a hot summer evening... how cool is that lol.. smile

You beat me to the punch line lol... I totally agree with you about the age of home and the repairs... smile... Like today's attic installation R-20 helps save on heating bills and electrical as well...

i second that!!!

i know many people who "think" that they are handy/jack of all trade!!! and end up WITH HUGE BILLS/HEADACHES from houses like these.... it is not worth to purchase a fixer upper house like this one.... sheesh...

Oh no horselover, I am sorry that you didn't get that house. You will find a better one soon. There are plenty of houses around but it the case of where and the cost of it. Take your time and you will get a good one. :)

Apparently the excitement and thrilling prospects of 'almost' getting a house must have been quite an experience for you...however, the end results for that one didn't work out in your favor, then again, it might very well have worked out in your favor! ;) Just hang in there and something will bound to come through, now that you have a few experiences of what it takes to go through the steps to finalized a purchase of a home, that'll be to your advantage, use it wisely and you'll be forever grateful!

Meanwhile, keep your chin up...you and your son will get into a new home soon. :)
