Greetings,
I posted this in the general chat by mistake but i guess the more people see my question the more repsonses ill get.
I am currently researching the best products for cochlear implant which I'm scheduled for June 2018.
I continue to lean toward one brand but then after reading more information I begin to sway over to the 2nd brand. I know that the brochures do a good job of selling their products (sometimes I feel it's too good to be true) but what I need are the actual users and their inputs. I also know that I can't go wrong with either products, where the features would be the deal breaker.
My 2 choices are Cochlear and Advance Bionics (Medel is not offer) in the hospital where I will be implanted.
What I'm looking for are the following with facts and data to back it up (in layman terms). Unfortunately, some of these companies tell you what you WANT to hear, instead, they should be telling what you NEED to hear.
So, here are the things I'm looking for
-electrodes and channels (what does each one have).
-input dynamic range
-simultaneous electrode drivers
-simulation rate or pulses per second (pps)
Please understand that I am not writing this for a branding war but just want someone to just state the facts. The more facts given the closer I can be to making my decision.
If you feel the need to correct a poster please do so with FACTS.
Thanks for reading and let the facts begin!!!
