All charges were dropped...so...it's not factual that she was or she would have been charged for it....It's like clarity that these Cops were in the wrong all along...but were trying to save their asses because of the video tape.....

And even if she was driving on a suspended license...there was no reason for her to be slammed on the pavement, kneed in the back and neck and hog-tied like an animal.....

We all commit traffic offenses time to time...make mistakes too...but we don't deserve what the Lady got.

The way she acted like she did nothing wrong after getting out of the van, WTF? Then why did she try to escape from cops in the first place?

She's very lucky that the charges were dropped. If the cops didn't do what they did in the video, she would be in jail for a while and would pay alot of fines. The cop was stupid for not controlling his anger. He should be fired.
 
Both cops and woman are wrong - the woman shouldn't use cellphone while driving (CA law required all phones to be hand-free) and the cops should not went too far to smash her on ground/tie her leg up.

I noticed that she has suspended license, so it is better for her to find someone to drive for her.

she did not comply with officer's order. she, in fact, was being argumentative with officer.

She only gets out of the car after they have yelled at her twice to do so. As soon as she is out of the car, the cops yell at her to put her hands up, she doesn't ... then they tell her to turn around, she doesn't ... then they yell a couple more instructions at her and she continues to just stand there looking at them. She only puts her hands partially up when they start to approach her. While pulling her to the ground could be considered excessive, she kind of set up her own fate by not immediately responding to them as ordered and just standing there.

I agree the cops were stressing out over the lady's noncompliance to their orders. That alone, can make an officer fidgety and nervous. I do not see why the lady got rewarded. It is almost like she deliberately set them up. SMH
 
The story did state that because of the rush hour traffic...she could not clearly hear what the cops were saying....PLUS...the cops not only slammed her to the ground and hog-tied her...one cop also kicked her in the side.....(as per the article).....And threw her "face down" into the Patrol Car!....And she did pull over one time, but was ordered not to stop there....with all that traffic, I'm sure she was very confused as what the right thing was to do....

Suppose this had been a Deaf or HOH person?...Not hearing the demands of the Cops...then having to endure such a demeaning incident on an expressway...It also appeared to me that the Lady was very nervous...She had no weapon...she did not fight the Cops....all they had to do was turn her around, handcuff her and put her in the patrol car.....But it's evident from the video....the Cops were definetly angry but it was no cause for them to abuse this woman like that.

And if they (the Cops) had done the right thing when arresting her, no lawsuit would have evolved and costing the city so much $$$$....

She may have been breaking the law (cell phone) and driving recklessly (in and out of traffic)...but the Cops were the ones that are at fault here!...Overly zealous and authoritive...demanding...luckily she did not lose her Baby!...Throwing her down on the cement pavement and kicking her in the side.....say what??...I would have sued for $1 million if I had lost my baby after the Cops did that to me.

Yeah, but I noticed that there is only one angry cop doing excessive force and others were cool. My guess is she was hog-tied because that angry cop told another officer to get ties and hog-tie her as instructed while he held her down with his knee. I may be wrong.

And note also....while waiting for a cop to hog-tie the Lady...the Cop had already handcuffed her and was bending her arms straight up...no excuse for that either...it's very painful...he held her arms straight up for a long time...and his ass right in her face!....As for the other Cops "being cool" about it....they knew it was excessive and did nothingThey are as much to blame as the 1st Cop....

This video makes me angry....there was no excuse in heaven for this treatment!

Yes and big embarrass for state.

CA Highway Patrol is state police that enforce the traffic laws.
 
I agree rr, it appears to be excessively brutal treatment but some things just seemed odd to me ... I also wondered why, by the end of the video, there were 6 cops there. Did anything happen prior to the video that would have warranted them calling in backups?

More than likely, backup was called because the lady could not find a spot to pull over....so much traffic...so the Cops assumed she was trying to get away.....I strongly believe that was was happened.

It's also happened here where I live...when a Cop was behind a car and told the person to pull over....he didn't, because they were deaf, and didn't hear it....so more Cops were called in to block that person off.....and when he did stop, all the Cops got out when their weapons drawn.....

the lady's action looks like she was ignoring cop's command to stop and kept on going in a suspicious manner. the officer was basically blaring his sirens and ordering her to pull over thru loudspeaker.

Sometimes you confuse me since I thought you are anti-cop. JK!

BTW, that's correct. Since the driver is not deaf, there's no excuse for her not being able to hear the loudspeaker as she said so. I am sure everyone else on that road could hear it.

I remember the story of one black lady getting arrested. While she was handcuffed, she kicked a cop's balls behind her. So maybe that's why the cops tied the driver's legs to avoid ballbusting, you know what I am saying? :lol:
