That's OK. Does it help if I put it in mathematical terms? Think of the "all the posts aimed at kokonut" as a subset of the set "all the posts in this thread". :giggle:

Nah, you just made me reach for a dusty self-help grammar book...

"What kind of clause was THAT? A gerund? Guess not."

I am thinking I need to review it again because my plural verbs just went out the windows completely since I have came here on AD. (You know... "is" versus "are.") But to be honest, my grammar has been in a decline since I stopped writing essays and papers for marks.

And makes a point about how dangerous it is to assign a timeline to get out and that the Taliban and their co-horts can simply tone down the attacks, wait it out, and then once troops leave and are firmly on terra firma in U.S.A. will they have the upper hand to resume attacks without the U.S. or the coalition efforts present to counter them.
