Hitchhiker?

Not until I die

:ugh:
I would not give them a ride at all no matter what! One time my father give person a ride while I was with him. I was scared because my mother told me not ever do that or they will kill you for your skin alive! I was scared when I was little. Today, I still not going to do anything for them even the outside is too cold, windy, or rainy. They should have think before they do anything else. I am not going to lose the point of my life. Beside, If i know person and then I give them a ride.

What would be bother if you know that person and discover that person pull the knife and asked you get out the car. What could your reaction be? :squint:

Picking up hitchhikers

Once, my daughter and I picked up an elderly couple who were hitchiking. The husband was BLIND and carrying a white cane. We picked them up and the elderly woman told us that she doesn't drive so uses this method for transportation to and from the doctors office.

HOWEVER I am also a reader of True Crime non fiction books and I know that this could have been a ruse. Look at all the tricks Ted Bundy played to get women in his car!

Hitchiking should be outlawed, in my opinion.

Or if you are going to pick 'em up, carry a Pit Bull with you at all times. THEY command respect!

HECK NO!!! i dont pick them up for ride.. i dont TRUST them cuz of out of the world are soo STRANG n

Your mother actually told you that they would skin you alive?

I've hitched all over New Zealand in the early days before I got 'wheels'. NZ is a place where hitching is popular. Once in a while there is always a 'horror' story relating to hitching....

For me... the risk of picking up a hitcher is no greater than the risk of idiot drivers on the road...

New Zealand is a sleepy country, I feel alot safer there! ha ha

My advice to you ALL, do not accept a lift from strangers, its not worthy, I am pleased to know most of you all think the same too.

I will not stop and give a child a lift home because I don't want to get involved with "kidnapped" etc. If I saw one, I will ring the police and leave it up to them.

Your mother told you this?....How old were you at that time....I never heard a ' Mother ' would actually tell her children in the youngest age!....

never did that.. but one time in college when I was walking. a car stopped thought i needed a ride but I ingored him then he left cuz he gupled I rather walk all way to the train cuz I need a good exercise anyways ;)

Last year I got stuck in deep snow and a nice driver asked me if I need a ride. Being so cold, I decided to ride because I couldn't stand being in below freezing weather. I showed where I live and thanked him after he dropped me at home. Sometimes in a bad situation like being stuck in deep snow a ride with a stranger would get you out of the weather fast.

If, I ever saw a person that I know for a long time, then I would pick that person up. In this town, there's never a hitchhiker around. Sometimes, some of my hearin' friends picked me up when they saw me walkin' to my work. *Chuckles* We enjoyed givin' ourselves a big smile and say a few cheerin' words before droppin' me off at my work. :thumb:

On an odd occassion I may have a 'joint or 2 with the hitcher'. I've picked up a few American 'Stoners' hitching around the country... they love our weed!

 I love Aussie weed myself -- heheh...would love to try NZ's.

On a serious note -- I have never picked up a hitchiker at all -- just know it's not safe at all being for 2 factors: one being a female and two...young. Most hitchikers were men and grubby looking, so didn't trust picking them up at all. I didn't pick up ANYONE, period.

Sure I have heard of people picking up hitchikers and nothing happened and others did.
