Hello AD ladies and gents

My name is Mary, and I"m from the east coast. I'm a hearing person, but i don't hear too well. I've got to have the captions on the tv and the like. In my house, my dad is deaf in one ear and a bit HOH. He can hear you if you're on the phone or LOUD. Anyway, I'm here because I'm learning ASL (in hopes to encourage my dad to do the same, as his hearing is getting worse, and for my work in education), and I work in the museum education field. So far, knowing what little asl i know has helped me so much in my daily life, I give tours of historical sites and I meet people from all over every day, some of whom are deaf of HOH. Just today, a girl about six came in and she was with her hearing parents who were interpreting for her. I was happy to be able to sign a little bit with her (even though she was making fun of my bad signs! :giggle: )

That's always a good sense of humour from me. You'll learn a lot about me around the forum, no worries. But girl, be careful out there, I'm sure the bees will be grumpy if you are near them! :lol:

well, my middle and last name start with b, so I'm MBB, and my dad calls me mary b. bumble bees are okay if you stay away from them. hence, marybee.

i live near the ocean so i have to watch out for sharks!

Didn't you know that sharks respects ladies? So they couldn't eat you. :lol:
