I am curious...did u grow up in Germany? If so, does Germany have deaf schools with sign language or oral programs? Also, if there are German deaf schools, do they teach the students sign language, read and write in German and other languages.

Just curious what it is like over there as far as deaf education goes. :)

So I have grown up in Germany. Since the birth I am hard of hearing and
carry two hearing aids.

Much gives schools for hard of hearing and deaf there.

I had gone in the school for hard of hearing. 17 years ago I was dismissed
there and began an education. What I have experienced there:
no sign language, only oral language as well as reading from the mouth,
english and german language. Mathematics, Politics, Sports, Art, Chemistry,
Physics and Biology.

After the school dismissal I was for hearing-impaired in the vocational school
in Essen in my period of training. For 2 1/2 years I have gone through there.
For the first time I have learned a sign language there.

DGS = (Deutsche Gebärdensprache = German sign language)
I use this today certainly.

Questions?
